Why is "Custom Label" considered more important by eBay than "Watchers"?

On the brand new, "improved" Selling page, most of the categories upon which we sellers have long depended have suddenly disappeared during the past few days -- including "Watchers."  However, eBay has decided that "Custom Label" should be one of the few categories that needs its own category.

In nearly 10 years of selling on eBay, I have NEVER used "Custom Label."  However, I HAVE used the "Watchers" designation DAILY, to find out how many people have shown a positive interest in specific items, and as a guide for my listing other, similar items.

But now -- "Watchers" is gone.  And "Custom Label" is deemed of high value and importance.  Not by sellers -- but by eBay.

This is madness.

Re: Why is "Custom Label" considered more important by eBay than "Watchers"?

I have slammed ebay with feedback at every opportunity I get.  Whenever the option comes up, I have told ebay in some not so nice feedback, that they need to get rid of this useless mess they created and replace with original classic.  I told them that none of them use this version.  How could they possibly know what is useful and what is useless.   This new garbage is so dis-functional it is pathetic.  Why the hell don't they just go back to flip phones?

But be prepared for ebay to change your "custom" page whenever they feel like it.

Yep, you are able to customize various pages in SH to show whatever you want them to show.........lots of choices.......you can delete custom label........which I use to show what box the item is stored in.........or not.....

@1786davycrockett

FYI You have the power to change that, right at your fingertips. The columns are customizable.

Has eBay actually done this to you, or are you speculating?

Because I've been using the Seller Hub on six accounts for a year now, and they've never changed my customization.

Re: Why is "Custom Label" considered more important by eBay than "Watchers"?

Got it -- thanks!  With all the other new garbage cluttering up my screen, I hadn't noticed the "Customize table" icon.

Now, if only we could once again see how many items we were selling, plus our current sales figures -- you know, like in the "good old days" -- last WEEK!?!  And I don't mean by having to change to another screen, or toggling the icon at the lower edge of the screen, in order to see what's going on  on the far right of my regular screen  (which has suddenly become necessary when using the "Customize table).

And maybe eBay could also fix the "alert bell" up in the right hand corner -- seems that all these "wonderful" changes have caused a loose wire for sale alerts and messages, since it's only working about 50% of the time now. . ..

Maybe when eBay provides us with the 2021 Summer Seller Update Preview, all these problems will have been fixed.

Or made worse. . ..

Oh, yeah -- forgot to mention -- during this latest snafu, all of my custom-made feedback messages to eBay buyers have magically evaporated from the system as well -- again!

Way to go, eBay -- another great leap backwards.

Please don't re-invent the lightbulb. . ..
