Why is Ebay opening up in the Portuguese language all of a sudden

Ebay opened fine until two weeks ago.  Now I need to click on convert to English every time I come here.  I've deleted cookies, checked my Google settings, and nothing is amiss.  Anyone have any ideas?

I had the same issue, except mine was in German for about 6 months. The only thing that worked for me was opening a private window, but I got tired of doing that and it eventually went away. I have no idea why.

Thank you for that.  Very weird indeed.  I've even called ebay, and they seem to think its something outside of Ebay.  Its not.  Ebay is the only site I have a problem with.  Thanks again.

I had the German thing going for a while, too.  Honestly, this place operates on crossed wires.

I kind of enjoyed it in a really weird way. . .it was like I had to solve a little German puzzle before I knew what to click.

I haven't had that problem on Ebay, but did on Pay Pal a month or so ago.

Every time I'd go to Pay Pal, it was a different language.

It's probably due to location finding software. I had the same problem, Portuguese. Then as a user suggested, I used a private window and it worked fine. Then I turned on VPN and voila' it went to Portuguese again even in the private window. It worked this way on both Chrome/Google and Microsoft Edge. On Firefox it was fine even with VPN turned on. Guess I'm using Firefox from now on.

Perhaps you should move to Portugal?  KIDDING!
When you type "ebay.com" in your browser does it take you to ebay.com or pt.ebay.com?
Once you clear that Portuguese site from your browser and override it with the US site, it should be ok.

Your post was very helpful! Mine was opening up in Portuguese as well. I do use a VPN, and duck duck go for search engine. I was able to finally get in, and I don’t know what I did differently. But if it happens again, I’ll open a private window first, if that doesn’t work, I’ll shut down the VPN temporarily. Thanks for your help!
