Checking payments this morning, got hit with 2 under payment charges. They said a package that weight 3 oz actually was 1 lb 3 oz, NO WAY, not for a 1/8 oz fishing lures and weight less then 2 oz total with the envelope. Lucky me, had this problem years ago and saved the link to dispute it. BUT I got no email from ebay or USPS about the underage, I had to find it in my payments. Problem with that is, I may sell a dozen orders and wouldn't have seen it except its a slow day.
I call ebay, they said they don't send emails about underage and I told them they need to so sellers can dispute it. I couldn't even find a link to dispute it, she actually google it to find the link and told me USPS should have sent an email. She did say UPS and FEDEX send emails, which I did get one from UPS 2 months ago
Anyone know if there's a place on USPS to request to get email's for under/overage. This is the 3rd one this year and I like to know when it happens. I thought I've seen over sellers say they got an email but I haven't.

@tsme35 wrote:I actually saved a ebay paged from years ago for adjustment details and disputing them(what you have highlighted) its how I found a underage on a fishing reel, won the dispute. I tried to find it this morning without going to my saved page, its no where( or I couldn't find it) in the help section. The rep had to google to find the links.
That label management page should be more easily accessible. Unfortunately it's only linked in 2 places. One is the email with cost adjustments. Two is this Seller Center page.
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/faqs
That page can be found via the main Seller Center page about shipping, scrolling down to FAQs.
On that FAQ page go to:
Preparing shipments and determining shipping costs > Where can I find details about shipping cost adjustments?
As for not getting the email, I suggest clicking the ? icon on the bottom right of most any eBay page and select the option to file a tech report.

You didn't get an email from ebay stating USPS said you had a postage adjustment?

Nope, I was checking on my payment funds and notice a shipping label payment for $2.45, none of my labels are less than $4, so it caught my eye. Ebay rep said they don't send emails for underage but I swear I've seen sellers say they have.

The weights on the emails are tricky to read.
Some interpret this as 1 pound 15.04 ounces. It is 0 LB not 01b.

So I've had this go both ways and unfortunately there's really no way to fight it. Someone usually "fat fingers" it if they have to put it in manually. I've been refunded as much as $4 and charged as much as $2 for various packages. I "think" its evened out. If you sell a lot of stuff like we do it usually does. I'm not sure if this helps, but wanted you to know you're not alone.

My guess is that you probably underpaid postage for the zip code/zone your package was going because an underpayment for a full pound would have been well over an additional $2.45.
A 3 oz. package ships at a 4 oz. rate.
A 1 lb. 3 oz. package ships at the 2 lb. rate.

I've been hit with 7 of these things in the last 2 days. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in 7+ years of selling full time. 99% of the packages I ship contain a single 45 RPM record and weigh 6 ounces and I'm getting hit for $5+ on some of them. Something is going on at USPS.

I got one of these just yesterday.
I did not receive a message from USPS, however, I did receive a message from ebay (as well as a receipt to my personal email from Paypal saying that I was charged).
The message from ebay had the subject:
"There's an update on your shipping labels"
Inside the message it included the link to dispute it.
I would go back and double check your messages or your settings, because I have always received a notification from ebay (again, not USPS).
edited to add: I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying what the person on the phone told you is wrong.

That is utterly messed up. But how did you find out about them? -The OP seems most concerned about the notification part. So did you receive 7 emails? From eBay or from USPS?

there's really no way to fight it.

You dispute. USPS checks it out with the processing photos/scans. If an error was made (it happens) USPS will correct/refund.

Did you check your SPAM folder? eBay always sends emails with label cost adjustments.
Well, in case you need the info, view the adjustment details for USPS here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng
Dispute the USPS adjustment here: https://apvdisputes.usps.com/

Use Pirateship, makes it very easy to dispute over charging, undercharged needing to pay more and they will even refund if you paid too much.
They sync with eBay and auto marks items shipped with tracking.
Pirate will always send an email and their customer support is tip top.

Same issue here in New Jersey - The notice provided a link to file a dispute thru. U.S.P.S.

Nope, the opposite of the same thing. The OP did not GET a notice, therefore no link to file a dispute.

No, package was zoned right, they just weight it wrong, probably another package was on their scale. It was only an 1/8 oz fishing lure.
