New seller here. I just sold 600 dollars worth of video games to 2 different buyers yesterday. I just read that ebay will hold my funds within 3 days of delivery. So basically your funds are on hold until delivery is confirmed, or positive feedback is given to you from the buyer?? Problem is, lots of people don't bother with feedback, and some people will lie about items not getting delivered. I'm very nervous about sending expensive rare video games and never get paid for them.

They could hold it for up to 30 days for new sellers. especially on high $ items. But if they paid then you need to ship or eBay will ding your account

As a new seller eBay may even hold funds for up to a month. EBay has never been a get rich quick scheme.

As a new/occasional seller Ebay will hold your funds for up to 30 days. It has little to do with delivery and nothing to do with feedback and has everything to do with mitigating Ebay's risk if the sale goes bad. For example, a seller has been paid by Ebay but then the buyer wants to return the item. If there is no money in the seller's account then Ebay is on the hook. So Ebay delays remitting the funds to the seller for up to 30 days. It is just good business risk management by Ebay.

You will get paid even if the buyer doesn't leave feedback (so long as there isn't a problem such as the item not being as described), and even if there isn't delivery confirmation (though for many other reasons you should make sure you ship it tracked and get delivery confirmation if at all possible), it will just take longer if you don't have the delivery scan.

Check your buyers feedback they left for other sellers, if it's good, you're good, if it's bad, you're in trouble.

That hold in imposed on new sellers and any sellers that have not sold for a period of time. Like 90 days. You will be paid, just have to wait it out.
That hold has nothing to do with a buyer that lies, in that case you can end up refunding even if you were not subjected to the hold.

not so much, some really incompetent amature scammer may leave bad feedback but the professional scammers are much more likely to leave no or even good feedback

EBAY has 30-day hold for new or infrequent sellers. Once you established yourself and continue selling on a regular basis, then you get payment in about 3 days AFTER item is shipped.
As new seller you should be aware of some EBAY policies that can affect you. EBAY 30-Day Money Back Guarantee (supersedes "no returns" policy) allows customers to lie and claim "not as described, counterfeit, defective, missing parts" (EBAY will force you to refund "purchase price + shipping BOTH ways). EBAY does NOT require the customer to prove their claims. EBAY always rules in favor of the customer (even if they return a "box of rocks").
If item is damaged or lost in mail Seller is forced to refund "purchase price + shipping". Seller then contacts USPS to file a claim for lost or damaged item. However, rarely pays for "damaged" item and will blame Seller for poor packing.
Seller also responsible if item is "delayed in shipping" and customer opens "item not received" case against you. EBAY will force you to refund "purchase price + shipping". If item is delivered AFTER you refund the customer...BAY does NOT require customer to pay and has no way for the Seller to recoup your money.
Customer also have 90-days to credit card company to get "payment reversed" AFTER they receive the item. If this happens you lose both "item + your money". Credit card company do NOT require customer to return the item to the Seller.
These are just some of the pitfalls of selling online. Fortunately, most customers are honest.

Everyone here is giving you good answers and good advice.
It's a VERY GOOD thing you've found your way here, to this forum.
If you have issues with anything I recommend you return here for advice on how to handle things.
Yes eBay has customer service reps but many of them are less versed in the rules & consequences than the long time sellers on these boards.
I am concerned about you being new and selling video games. This is a tough category and sadly, some buyers know how to take advantage of the system. That said, hopefully you have decent, honest gamers buying from you. They do exist. LOL
So if you have issue in the future, claims of not as described, return requests etc.. Please return to the board and ask for help.
The sellers here know the best way to handle these things. It's not foolproof errr scam proof but they can help you navigate to best avoid losing your item and/or money.
Good Luck to you! Happy selling.
