Why My Ebay Sent Messages show in Inbox not showing in sent box. please advise??

this issue comes after ebay new messages update.

When I click on sent it pulls up all the messages I have responded to.  I can see my response on the right in the white box which is below the blue box which shows the question from my buyer.

Are these messages replies to buyer messages?

The new format is a threaded style layout, when you reply to a buyer message it becomes part of a thread. If you send an unsolicited message to a user then I think only those show up in your Sent folder.

That's how it's supposed to be. Messages show on the right side pane, even if you 'sent' it. The response will then show on the same right side pane, along with your message (in blue) so you can easily see the conversation. 

In reality, they should just do away with 'Sent' and 'Inbox' so there is no confusion and just list 'messages'.

The unsolicited messages I have sent to users are in my inbox and my sent box is empty.

Can't understand why my sent messages now appear in my inbox rather than my sent box, makes no sense at all !

I think the new format is generally awful.

I like the "threaded" layout

BUT

I agree....I used the feedback link to ask the same thing..when i send "new, unsolicited emails" to a buyer, they should be in my sent folder (until/if they reply, then it can be inbox thread)

Agreed, I sent a couple of messages to two buyers who have not responded yet and my sent messages only show up in my inbox. Considering it has been three days with no replies from either buyer I am starting to think that the newly revised messaging system may be faulty and that none of my messages made it to either of the buyers.

My sent messages in response to buyer questions also do not show up as responses to buyer questions. The questions continue to be shown as unanswered.

I had the same thing happen and was wondering if the buyer received my message. So I sent a second one two days later. It still didn't show up in my sent folder, so began to wonder if they weren't being sent because of the new system. I did get a response to the second message so I think it works.
