Did you mean:

Where are all the customers?

Did somebody forget to put out the "open" sign?  Are we closed?  I can't support a family on this!  I've been working hard to keep my site updated.  I add new listings constantly.  I use promotions above the "suggested rate".

Where are the customers?  They were just here not to long ago.

Or is it just me?

Sincerely,

A man with 3 children to feed...  Including one that's only 6 months old.

P.S.  Please fix whatever is broken.

HANG in their movieman. I feel your pain as well. Summer has always been a downright drop every year to more or less extent, depends on what you sell. People spend on VACATIONS, NOW school supplies etc. It picks up again overall approaching the Holiday. My thoughts and prayers.

The east coast especially Florida JUST GOT HIT WITH a big one hurricane with flooding etc. There went a lot of buyers just right there for the time being.

I find it ridiculous that people blame kids going back to school and the same families vacationing as the reason for slow sales.

That would mean that the demographic of buyers are mostly people 25-50 with children. There are many people in the world with grown children or no children and fat bank accounts. Many people don’t vacation.
Oh and the high heat used as a reason, if it’s hot outside people stay inside and would have more time to shop online.

Historically July and August have been the best months of the year for me but sales tanked big time this year.

I agree with other posters, it is the algorithm. What is wrong with it? I have no idea.

So you think people want to buy what the op is selling but ebay is somehow preventing them from doing so?

Sellers like me who have been on here for over 15 years know what the summer slump is and it is very real. Add that a horrific hurricane just blasted the east coast with massive flooding. That sure keeps someone off the web shopping while they are drowning in their house.

Nothing is broken.

Over the weekend I had 14 sales.   Last week I averaged a couple sales a day.  Last weekend I had no sales.

I once had two children to feed, so I had a real job.

I'd never, ever depend on selling in cyberspace for my financial security.   Good grief.

Meantime, your nasty replies to unhappy buyers suggests an attitude problem which I can guarantee you does not help you.  One bit.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

You didn't hear? eBay committed suicide. They left a note when they had their last update.

It's Never Ebay, It's floods, famine, pestilence and the seasonal slump, or more likely It's something you're doing!
Ebay's fine, always has been, always will be...

Rah, Rah, Rah!

Gilda Radner once said, “it’s always something” And it usually is always something. And sometimes NOT something we expect or can predict.

Some do very well on ebay for a big portion of their salary to survive. To each his own. Use it to your specific needs and be a smart cookie.

Unfortunately, hard work does not guarantee that people will buy your items. If it did, then everyone who sold here would be rich.

That aside ...

I see 702 sold items on this account, with 40 sales in the last 3+ days. What were your sales before that?

Re: Where are all the customers?

Well... the first thing I am seeing is that you are selling to one audience.  Unfortunately that limits sales. Collectibles have been very slow for a while now, maybe due in part to the economy?  But as others have said there is an ebb and flow to eBay sales.

We started with books and now sell just about anything that we think will sell.  Our sales have been the best they ever have been in the summer so far.  I have been selling since 1999.  Hope your sales pick up!

Re: Where are all the customers?

I have never used promotions or adds.  The best thing I have done lately is to have coupons that last about 1 week.  This has boosted sales for us
