When did eBay stop taking FVF's immediately from orders

Back in October I was checking my sold items and realized eBay had not been taking FVF's out of the orders as they are bought. My last 5 sold items since Oct 19 have been this way. I contacted eBay and the CS rep said I could be on a special no fees promotion and not to worry as I wouldn't be charged for them.

Today I received a notice that my account on file was to be charged for $xx.xx. When I went to see what the charge was for since I hadn't sold anything the last week, it was for 2 of the items I sold in October that they hadn't taken the fees out of.

Has this happened to anyone else lately. I have 3 more sales that I know the fees were not deducted from. I guess I will be getting another invoice for them soon.

Re: When did eBay stop taking FVF's immediately from orders

The more we try backtrack this the more suspicious it appears. Payouts were always lower then previous day's totals. The site only shows us as things appear today, not a true history of events. Always leaving a pending balance showing processing also. The gray area of what may or may not be state sales tax. Leaving chance for manipulations on this.

We can be wrong, but still find it to be disaster. We are debating on stopping using this platform at end of year because of it. Lost trust of their managing payments. Were never in support of them breaking from Paypal the way they did it. We were on Paypal's micropayments because our transactions are smaller amounts. Costing 5 cents plus fees per order, forced into now 30 cents plus fees that continue to increment upwards. With promotion rates that continue to increase ''just to have our items be seen"

As a casual seller it may be fine to make pennies on the dollar to rid a few things here. But as a business, it makes increasing less sense to give away made products for so little in return. With lack of true protections from shipping issues, the increasing flood of messages over it all using our time, and lack of clarity of the amounts generated on monthly basis.

It's an entire headache to do the accounting for taxes, let alone trying to maintain a profit under inflations, hard economic times like this. The state sales tax being inconsitent even makes it near impossible to track that payments are or were correct in the first place. shipping costs continualy changing and not ever going down really adds into the confusion as ebay fees the entire amount. Not true costs after shipping and taxes.

For any audits, even this sudden charge is not with any proper way to document it to explain.

We value our customers, on and off ebay. We serve across globe. And will try to continue, but finding it increasingly harder to.

We feel for other sellers impacted by this, even our competitors. Truly not how it should be.

Re: When did eBay stop taking FVF's immediately from orders

Just an update, I was charged yesterday for the other 3 sales that didn't have the FVF's taken at purchase. Thankfully I only had 5 sales total like this. I feel sorry for those who had many more. I kind of figured there would be no free lunch. eBay CS reps have no clue. I hope they have this sorted by the time I relist my items in January as I am taking December off from selling....

No, but I had 2 months of Anchor Store fees come out on the same day because they forgot to bill me a previous month.

Screwed up my shipping for a week.

@valueaddedresource
@devon@ebay

So we have looked at our transactions and we were charged FVFs for returns we had processed. We have 15 transactions where the buyer was refunded for a return but we were still charged FVFs because of this issue.

I am sure I am not the only one. This is a huge mess, I hope you can clean this up and get sellers FVF refunded for their returns. Thanks.
