I knew they were messing around on UK, but didn't realize it was on US.
And I'm not talking automated seller leaving feedback. I'm talking automated buyer feedback for sellers.

I was unaware that this is happening.

I imagine by 2026, eBay will have everything automated. Including them selling and buying and nobody will even be needed anymore.
10-15-2024 12:56 PM
Where did you find that?
10-15-2024 12:57 PM
It was on one of my accounts.
First time I ever got one.

They have been running various tests on random blocks of accounts this entire month.

Hmmmm..........it's in the help files...........just another unannounced change.
Automated feedback is positive feedback which is automatically added to successfully completed transactions in the following circumstances:
We add automated feedback to provide more information to other eBay users and help them buy and sell with confidence.
Automated feedback from eBay will remain visible unless your experience was less than positive, for example you opened a return request, you didn't receive the item, or the order was cancelled.
You can still leave your own feedback about your experience which will replace any automated feedback already left.
So did your other accounts have less than 10 feedbacks?

Yeah it's a fresh account.
So it's up to a 10 feedback boost for new accounts if people don't leave feedback.
I guess they added it stealthily to the US.😂

I saw this on an account that was over ten years old, but most of their feedback was as a buyer.
They had less than 10 feedbacks as a seller.

Yeah, we discussed this a little over 3 mos ago regarding sellers in the UK when @a_c_green brought it up.
Here's @valueaddedresource 's summary:

Looks like it's now in the US policy pages, too.
Wonder if it'll be in the Fall Seller Update - tomorrow, perhaps? Week after?

Did you have less than 10 feedback? That is the rule in the UK. Ebay only leaves feedback for new sellers so to help them build up their feedback number.

For this specific UK rule? Where did you get that information @dolcetreasures .
I actually like the rule they have in the UK, I think it will help our new sellers. I just think they should reword what they post. Every time I read "The Seller Successfully Completed an Order", in my head I hear HURRAY, this seller finally completed an order. LOL Seems they could word that a bit better and still stay neutral in what they say.

Spoke to a concierge regarding the delivery days %’s that were randomly popping up. Not specifically with regards to the automatic feedback since I wasn’t aware of that happening anyway.

Too bad they couldn't be more specific.
With that said, Ebay is always running tests, so what they told you is highly likely true 24/7/365.

It's not limited to UK anymore
Ebay has updated the US policy pages.
It was stealthy added to US.
