Did you mean:

What would you do?

Quick backstory. Sold 4 travel size hair products in one listing. Buyer claimed that 2 were empty and 1 was half empty. No, they were not empty. They are travel size with about 0.35oz in each, so not much.

Anyway, she opens a case in Paypal asking for $10 back. She paid 13.99 + 3.00 for shipping.

She bypassed ebay for some reason.

She left me a negative stating that the items were not as described. I refunded the 10.00 she asked for along with a message asking if she would consider revising her feedback.

This is what she wrote in response:

"Hello. I am a very busy businesswoman and I just signed a deal to do my own TV show in Michigan which I am very busy with. If you go ahead, And give me a full refund due to the inconvenience , I will then reissue you a 5 star review.  "

Is this against policy? It seems like feedback extortion to me .

Do I have a shot at getting this removed by ebay?

I would not have had a problem refunding the rest of her money but she didn't ask for it to begin with and what she is asking of me just seems, well, wrong.

And if she is this big shot getting her own TV show why in the world is she squabbling over a few bucks?

Something isn't right here

What would you do?

You brought up feedback first, not her.  She is just responding...so not feedback extortion, imo.

She's probably on Cloud 9, telling everyone..........

As to why squabble?  To some it's the principle of the thing.

No no no no.  You make her RETURN the supposedly empty containers in order to get her money back. NEVER refund without a return first.

can always call Ebay and ask if it can be removed, does not hurt to ask

I would never have given in to a partial refund in the first place.  You now have the choice of accepting the negative (which I would do, as I have found that they don't make much difference in the amount of sales) or paying her off to remove it, which she might not do even after you refund the rest of the money.

I would contact ebay and ask them to remove it and explain everything that happened. That is a form of extortion of feedback and against ebay policy. I dealt with a nasty lady in Michigan that claimed to have her own radio show and didn't have time as she was a very busy business woman. She had an issue with a product similar to yours and claimed it wasn't full either I wonder if it's that same nasty person. I made her send the item back though and boy when I got it back it reeked of smoke, I contacted ebay and they removed everything.

I know this is no help, but when I read her bit about 'very busy businesswoman' with her own show I burst into laughter.  *I'm* a very busy businesswoman with my own show, too - it runs in live time, is called Feed Me and my cats watch it.

You may want to chat with @nickelsanddimes2015 privately to see if this is the same person - eBay is tracking this kind of behaviour and if whoever this buyer is has pulled this before it may help your case.

Wouldn't have given them a single cent, return for refund always, you are not getting it for free, you tried to buy good feedback after the Negative, sounds like she was going to do this all along, never cave in with partials, oldest trick out there. Block & Move on.

IMHO...You are being played...I don't care who said/suggested what first....Your buyer has an unethical agenda.  You dance to her drummer...  I can almost guarantee you will get the fuzzy end of the lollipop....  Have her RFR!

OP you very well know,  you did not send empty containers, so, you know your buyer is a scammer and that is the  reason they did not open a return with eBay because eBay is on their radar.  Your buyer might have lost their MBG.   I would report your Buyer to both eBay and PayPal.

Its too late, but I would never allow a buyer whom "you" know is lying to receive a partial refund.  In the future require they return the product.  Go back and review the feedback your buyer has left other Sellers, often there are clues if your buyer has pulled this stunt before.   Review what your Buyer has bought in the past, chances are she has burned other Sellers as well;  you could reach out to those Sellers and encourage them to report this buyer.

PS:  Do not forget to block this Buyer, no one needs this Buyer as a repeat customer.

This one is a doozy. A radio show personality upset over trial size items. I think it possible as well that this person has done a lot of MBG abuses here and they should be reported.

The mantra here when someone does this is RETURN FOR REFUND-ALL OF IT, NOT PART OF IT, AND NOT TO GIVE PARTIAL MONEY BACK.
