I just got an official offer in for $1300 for an item that I'm selling for $1400 from a buyer in Taiwan shipping to a US address. I've learned this is potentially a forwarding service and is very normal.
This offer came hours after a message from another account based in Taiwan sent me a private message of:
"Sir How about 1, 300(consains delivery fee) for this item? Please let me know"
When I look at the reviews for this new buyer they have 838 positive feedback reviews and a lot of them are the exact same string of: "Good buyer, prompt payment, valued customer, highly recommended."
Unsure if I'm allowed to post the actual profile link.
I just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed somehow as this is a large payment.

What is EIS?

eBay international shipping. If you have not be invited into the program, then you will not be familiar with it.
It provides a level of security for sellers that is otherwise unavailable. All returns and refunds are handled by eBay, seller bears no responsibility and suffers no loss. At least that has been my personal experience with the program.

if it is the only active listing, you have now, I would say a scam.
Do your homework on the buyer. How long have they been on eBay and what does all their feedback look like?
If you're willing to ship International, you should only do it through eBay Internationa shipping program and not doing it yourself through other carrier services.

All buyers have positive feedback. I wouldn't ship anything that expensive overseas, on Ebay or any internet venue. Scammers are everywhere, not matter how honest & trustworthy they look. You are asking for trouble. Sell it locally for cash.

A lot of you are saying to sell it in person for cash. What about selling to a US based seller who has good reviews??

Many sellers leave feedback before the item is even shipped, so it will not be an indicator that something later went wrong with the transaction.

Lots of scammers who are US based, probably more, it's no different. You're a new seller wanting to sell a very expensive item?...strike one. Again, as others have suggested, protect yourself and sell it for cash. I think we've all being selling on Ebay long enough to know the drill. Trust us.
