What is my net revenue?

I can never figure this out.  I sold a shirt for 19.99 and according to Ebay, my net revenue is 10.94.  Or is it 15.52?   Did EB deduct both the shipping & fees; even though the buyer paid ($7)  for shipping?  *Confusing*!!

Take the Total the buyer paid which includes any shipping and taxes they paid.   Deduct all the fees Ebay charged. Deduct what you paid for shipping.  What remains is what is transferred to your account.  It's always about what is transferred to your account.

That settles it.

I don't know why EB makes it so complicated compared to the P*h site.  They take a straight 20% fees, buyer pays taxes & shipping. 

And another site takes 6% straight fee, the buyer pays taxes & shipping.

I do wish EB did the same.  It's ridiculous.

4.88 is NOT S&H [shipping and handling].  The 4.88 is what has been stated the actual cost of the carrier was.

The FVF on $7.00 is 93 cents, cost of shipping 4.88 = 1.19 for shipping supplies.  

Going by the numbers in your original post.

19.99  Buyer paid including shipping

-4.47  Less Ebay Fees

----------

15.52  Sub Total

-4.88  Less carrier costs

--------

10.64  Amount you cleared from this transaction on Ebay.

From the 10.64 you need to deduct your other expenses for product cost, shipping supplies, etc. Ebay doesn't have any of those numbers, so they can't do that for you.

Yes, there are other sites that charge less in fees than Ebay and their are sites that charge more.  If your primary concern is the amount of fees you pay, then I can see why some other sites you find interesting.  If only it was just the cost of the fees that matter.  You can go to a site that has less fees and maybe sell less because they don't have the traffic that Ebay does or you can go to a site that charges more in fees and see if you can get more sales to make up the difference.  

Each site has its own pros and cons.

"...the buyer pays taxes & shipping"  I'm not sure what this is about.  If the seller on Ebay sets their listing up for the buyer to pay shipping, then the buyer will pay shipping.  As for sales tax, that is ALWAYS paid by the buyer.

So do you understand it now? I don't want to beat the dead horse, but the text part of your original post was not correctly worded. You did not sell your shirt for $19.99 but for $12.99.

Equation should be:

12.99 + 7.00= 19.99          (what the buyer paid you for the item, plus (if anything) what he paid for shipping

-4.47                                     subtract ebay fees

-4.48                                    subtract what you paid for the shipping label.

10.64                                     Ebay sent to your bank account. 

Notice in Step 1, the buyer paid you for shipping..........and in Step 3,  out of his payment, you paid for the shipping label.
