What categories/subcategories would YOU like to see have a variations option?

Saw a post on the chat requesting a variations option for a particular category and it set me thinking as I was planning on utilising the variation option in the wake of the GTC mandate but found the categories where these were available was now very limited (even though the help pages insist they are available 'in most categories').

My first choice would be to get back the option under Decorative Collectible Brands.

What's yours?

Business & Industrial > Office > Office Supplies > Pens, Pencils & Markers > ALL SUBCATEGORIES
Business & Industrial > Office > Office Supplies > Paper Products > ALL SUBCATEGORIES

Business & Industrial > Office > Desk Accessories > Business Card Holders

Business & Industrial > Office > Desk Accessories > Other Desk Accessories

With the recent announcement of per listing managed payment fees it will be even more important to have the variations option in more categories.

I would also like to add in a vote to eliminate the buy it now button from the listing page and make add to cart the default. Buy it now can instead be added to the pop-up window that appears when you add an item to the cart.

I get a lot of buyers who buy from variations listings but pay for every item separately because they don't use the cart.

Thank you for starting this thread. I'm always running across categories where I need the variation option but it's not available. For starters-

Books > Accessories > Blank Diaries & Journals

Books > Accessories > Bookmarks

I can't believe they actually added variations to these 2 categories- and so quickly. Thank you tyler@ebay for submitting my request a couple of months ago! Now get the inventory mgmt team cracking on some of the other category requests in this thread. Smiley Wink

Probably because they were already working on changing some of the subcats in books category

LOL me too, but they don't seem in a hurry to give me MV listings in decorative collectible brands or puzzles.

Bumping this thread because I think it's important. It's a pain for sellers and buyers to have things like pens, pencils and other office supplies without a variations ability. I have to create separate listings for the exact same items that are different colors or patterns and buyers have to ask if I have the color they want. It's frustrating. brian@ebay

STILL waiting to see if they give us back some of the cats where they took AWAY the variations option...like Decorative Collectible Brands.

It would also be nice if we could get a list of current categories that support variations and have that page actively updated when they make category changes.
