Unfortunately, there will be a customer who just wont let you so any business in the form of petty harassment and their actions will force you to block them, it is true, be prepared for this unfortunate part of selling here.

One place to start is to read these boards regularly, I have probably added more buyers after they posted here than I ever did from actual transactions that went bad.

That's what I was thinking, although it seems to mostly be nasty posters in general--buyers or sellers.

"a customer who just won't let you"? Let you do what? Block them? How does that work?

Thank you for pointing that typo out, I meant, there are an infinite number of ways a person, or persons, can make it unpleasant to sell your things, particular to them. eBay is a good company but they can not police every transaction, so they have, thankfully provided sellers with the blocking function. So, if you want, for any reason, you can block users, you do not need a reason.

I have a few reasons:
1. Negative feedback without any attempt to resolve whatever issue they have
2. Returning something other than the original item
3. Scolding me in a message or telling me how I should conduct my business
I'm sure there are others, but these are the usual reasons

99% of the people on my block list are posters who show their tails on this forum. I like to be proactive, I prefer not to deal with a headache if I don't have to, even if the chances of them actually buying anything are slim to none. Maybe four or five actual difficult buyers over the past 19 years have made it to my block list.
They buy, they pay, I ship. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting...

There are an infinite number of reasons and all are revealed just using your own imagination.

I love the fact that you dont need any sales that bad so you can block any user here that pulls your chain, so to speak, I respect that, and want to buy from you.

1. anyone who doesn't pay
2. posters here who flaunt that they break the rules and give more negatives than positives
3. anyone who posts here that I have given advice to and they react badly
4. people who send low-ball offers that are ridiculous
5. anyone who sends harassing/offensive/nasty messages

6. Anyone retracting a bid on my auctions. (Usually when they do, I look at their Feedback as a Buyer and find 47 other bid retractions in the past year.)
