I have 232 people watching items I have for sale. So tired of it. Wish they would take the plunge and buy.

Don't let it get that high. End the listing, got to sell similar and relist it. Seems to work, like it gets buried.

Can we get paid by the Watchers & views????, In Brick & Mortar you can be asked to leave if you don't buy something!

I watch for various reasons. Sometimes it's the train wreck factor.
"Will that $150 camera actually sell for the $1500 asking price?"
Sometimes it's because the BIN price is just a bit too high, and I'm hoping for an offer.
Or maybe there are three or four auction listings for the same item, and I've only bid on the first one. If I lose, I'll bid on the next one, and so on.
If you're wondering why I watched but did not buy your item, it's because I won an earlier bid.

Shops at the 'No soup for you!' guy....

This is how I shake up the watchers. I will end and relist the next day. Maybe they will get the picture that this item may be gone again so I should Buy??

If I had a rupee for every time I got a watcher…

If watchers are so distressing, just remove them from view. You can do that in the seller hub. One click and you won't see them. Just click the customize table link on the active listings page.

Sadly, online and real world are apples and oranges

Watchers are exactly that. They are watchers. I have had watchers email me soon after I've sold an item asking if said item was still available because they were interested in it and had been watching it. My guess is they didn't want me to sell it because they wanted to keep watching it.

This reminded me of the old Cheech and Chong routine, where the student is describing how he spent his summer vacations.
The first three days he got up, then went downtown to look for a job. Then he hung out in front of the drug store.
The fourth day he got up, went downtown to look for a job. Then he got a job... keeping kids from hanging out in front of the drug store!

I think every eBay sellers wishes that unsold items would sell 🙂
But I think it helps to remind yourself of one unavoidable conclusion - watchers are people who say your listing and then made a conscious decision not to buy your item.
IMHO an important aspect of selling is to figure out whether they have real interest in your item, and if so what made them decide not to buy it.

We watch items for several reasons - might have one also for sale and yours is priced much higher. If yours sells, might re-evaluate our listing.
Watch sometimes as your pricing is in-line, but shipping whacked out. Might have sent you an email to ask about that and Seller doesn't reply - forget to remove from watch list.
Might be a "want" vs a need. Retail therapy day prospective purchase.
Might need it, but your pricing is high compared to others. Watching sometimes results in an offer. Hoping I might get one.
Sometimes I click watch to compare 4/5 items while working to narrow a search. Usually delete those not applicable, but sometimes forget.
Now, if it made it into my cart - I am ready to buy one from someone. When you get those emails saying buyers have them in their carts, lower your price slightly, etc - I do usually buy when e-Bay says "hey it's in your cart and now on sale".
