I don't understand the watch list. Always have 10-14 watchers. But they don't buy. Same items all the time.

I would offer that possibly your Watchers have a like item and are looking to see if yours sells. No biggie...

I think many people put an item on their watch list and then just forget about it and rarely clean up their watch list. When I have low priced items with watchers showing up on my send offer list, listings that just linger on that list for weeks, I just end the items and relist with sell similar.

That's why it's called a "watch" list.

This comes up all the time.
Some watchers own what you are selling and want to know when and for what price it sells for.
Some watchers have a limited budget to spend on items like yours. When they have some money, they look at what is on their watch list and buy what they want most or the best value.
Some watchers are waiting for you to drop the price.
You cannot count on any watched item to sell, nor can you decide it will not sell.

And some watchers are just window shoppers! And that is the nature if retail sales

Watchers watch.
And Watchers are more or less permanent.
Viewers viewed in the previous 30 days then disappear from the Viewers notice.
Both Viewers and Watchers are members who looked at your listing and did not buy.

Send them an offer and see if that can shake loose some sales for you.
If you don't know how to do that, just ask.

They are either sellers seeing if/what it sells for, and/or buyers watching for if you periodically reduce price.

Or buyers that simply forgot they put it on their watch list.

It is a watch list, not a promise-to-buy list.

I've done that and the same group of watchers turns up and starts watching it again. (I'm assuming it's the same group, we'll never know...) Something tells me people are interested in what happens to my item. Relisting it doesn't actually get rid of the watchers, they just come back.

If you were thinking that the watch list was only people who might be interested in buying your stuff, please let me disabuse you of that notion.
Have no idea of the percentages here, but a whole lot of those people watching are probably fellow sellers who have that same thing and want to see how much yours sells for before they list theirs.
Then there are those who might actually buy, but have six similar items on their list before deciding who to buy from, or who to make an offer to.
And there's me. I often just look at unusual things on eBay, a lot of which I've never heard of before, so I watch to see if it actually sells and I wonder maybe why that buyer made that particular purchase.
That's the story on the watch lists.

Watchers could turn in to buyers, so be glad your items are at least getting some attention.

I'm thinking about putting a disclaimer on all my listings.
PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THIS ITEM UNLESS YOU ARE PANNING TO BUY IT.
