I'm so confused concerning eBay's policy on not listing Nazi Germany related items.
I am under the understanding items containing the dreaded swastika are not allowed but I see coins, books, stamps etc all over ebay.
I have a couple of WW2 nazi patches that to me are historical, but I am afraid to list. I guess I don't get what the difference is between a stamp with a swastika and a patch with one

There is a difference between Nazis and history. To suppress history does not do any good. History is what it was, that can't be changed.

In the under educated, overly PC society we have today, historical items have fallen victim to over sensitivity. Many people do not realize the swastika predates the Nazis by centuries, and that the symbol had other meanings in different cultures.
Would you believe that for the first 15 years of its existence, members of the 45th infantry division proudly wore on their left shoulders, an ancient American Indian symbol of good luck, most commonly referred to as the swastika. The Division was organized in 1923 as the National Guard for Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico included members of many tribes, cowboys and people of Hispanic descent.
When the Nazi party adopted the symbol as its standard, The U.S. Army Had the division vote on a new symbol for their Division. They chose the Thunderbird another Indian symbol, for their new standard.
If you live near a big or good sized city, there are probably militaria collectors, who would purchase the patches. A member of a local historical society or museum staff member, might be able to point you towards some who would be interested in your pieces.
