I have now had to call on three transactions within the past month for incorrect selling fees. For example sold a part for $69 and was charged $76.09. I am pretty frustrated in having to double check their work but yet when we the seller don't so something correctly we get defects with no grace or help. I was told they would follow up with me in regards to these accounting issues and yet never did. I have spoken with multiple supervisors and they are not helpful, I asked how do I fix these issues in the future so I don't have to continually be calling back in to see if problems were fixed. Shannon (supervisor) said the only have to confirm you are getting these issues resolved is to check your invoice and may be a good idea for a CPA to review monthly. Spoke with several reps today and have been advised I need to hire more people to be checking different processes in selling on eBay. I am having a hard time putting in the effort to be a top notch seller when eBay has never helped me. Feedback would be appreciated!

What was the $76.09 fee for?
" I was told they would follow up with me in regards to these accounting issues and yet never did."
I hear this all to often from other sellers, that CS has no integrity.

Ditto the above question.
Exactly what does your account detail say that this $76.09 in fees was for?
Was this one charge, or several charges that totaled $76.09?
Item final value fee?
Shipping final value fee?
Promotional fee?
Listing add-ons?
etc.

The same applies for sellers expecting these hourly employees to solve their problems...
The CS has no more power at their fingertips than you or I do, they can't just magically perform acts that we can't do from our end, it doesn't work that way and their supervisors are simply better trained or they have more experience but that in itself does not increase the number of options available to them.
You really have to see it from a CS perspective, they have in front of them a computer screen same as you.
What options are presented to them, these CS agents have been trained in the art of ebay but it is a big piece of software and it takes years to really learn all the little tricks and tips and things you can do... On that note there is no one better qualified for that position than the person experiencing the problems at hand, which is to say I consider the CS calls to be a huge waste of my time.
They can't fix or do anything you or I can't do from our end.
It's true, even if you don't believe it.

Are you looking at your total fees due and NOT the details of how that number is arrived at?
Could it be your monthly store fee PLUS your FVF on the $69 sale?
Please come back and participate. The answers may be easy for you to see if you are looking in the right places. Don't look at summaries, look at the details.
Also when you go into your Ebay invoice, you can do a search by the listing number. That will then pull up all the fees and credits if any that are associated with that specific transaction. Tell us what you see.

@varcoautoparts- What is the breakdown on your invoice? You use subtitles so that's an extra fee. There must be more to the $76.09 than a simple final value fee because if it was that large of an accounting error it shouldn't have required more than a call or two to get a CS rep to fix it. The billing team is usually- in my experience- better than some of the other CS teams.
This isn't related to your billing question, but if you don't mind the advice- the TOS on your listings are not easy to read.

I would agree that CS is relied on too heavily for issues, nonetheless, If anyone gives their word to call/text/email back and they don't, then their word is worthless, they have no integrity. Let's no forget, this is ebay CS, not third party contractors. Don't say what you don't intend to honor.
"They can't fix or do anything you or I can't do from our end."
The one time I did call them, they fixed an account issue glitch on their end when I had no power to do so. They are given certain allowances for correcting errors that the seller cannot. They also have the power to keep their word. This is a universal truth. Applies to everyone. "It's true, even if you don't believe it."

So what would your solution be?
eBay needs to have someone who has the ability to fix these kinds of issues. In one phone call.
everything else is just an excuse.

Maybe they just need people who can clearly communicate the details of the issue so that CSRs can provide a clear answer.
It's been 9 hours and the OP has not come back to clarify anything. They wrote "For example sold a part for $69 and was charged $76.09", what does that mean? eBay charged a fvf of $76.09 on a $69 sale? That would be truly bizarre and would be so obvious it would be self-explanatory.

I found this item that sold for $69.00 with free shipping:
11-13 DODGE DURANGO OEM LH FRONT DOOR MODULE 68055299AJ 150219
The FVF = $6.90
SUBTITLE is an extra charge.
I can't imagine any other advanced listing fees that would total $76.09
Are you sure that price isn't your seller fees for the previous month?

Yeah , I really can't see how a seller could change or '' fix '' their e bay fee's from their end . If that was possible e bay could go broke . lol - Tulips

I don't see how it would be possible for the OP to fix his billing statement from his end . If it was possible to do this then every seller would be able to cross out the amount owed on their seller fees statement and change it to an amount they were more comfortable with . If the OP was indeed charged more money in fee's than he made on one transaction then there's a problem only e bay can fix IMO . Tulips
