Updates are happening to some item specifics and category structures

We announced in our most recent Seller Update that we’ve revised some categories and item specifics to help make your listings easier to find on eBay and by external search engines. 

Starting today, you’ll see updates to the following categories:

Business & Industrial (Sinks)

Collectibles & Toys 

Electronics (Cameras)

Health & Beauty (Covid tests)

Home & Garden

Parts & Accessories (Wheels & Tires)

Sporting Goods (Golf & Cycling)

Watches

During this transition, your listing experience could be temporarily impacted, as well as the visibility of your listings.  You may notice some item specifics changing names, listings moved to different categories, or some listings temporarily not appearing in searches. 

Any affected listings should return to normal within a week, though some effects to listings’ visibility in searches may continue for up to three weeks. 

Once these changes are complete, we recommend checking your listings in the above categories to see if any were affected.  Learn more about category changes → please scroll down the page to see the links for the specific category changes.

We understand these updates will take extra time and may cause some frustration, but our goal is to help you increase your listings’ visibility and sales.

The collectible category has been completely ruined. They want more Chinese crap on here.

Wheels & Tires category changes have been devastating for us. We saw our best sales numbers in 18 years on ebay during this last April to mid-June. As of June 19th, we have not seen a single sale. We have never gone a month with zero sales.

They (Ebay) know something is broken. Just spoke to customer service and they know.

I have had VERY dramatic drop in sales since Jan.   I have called twice and my consigner assures me that I'm doing everything possible - promotions, rotating inventory, free shipping, etc.   My July sales so far is $500.00.   My average sales per month for the last two years has been $7,000 to 9,000.    Hmmmm.  THIS IS NOT ALL the retail climate.   I believe it started when Ebay completely revised the item specifics and/or messed with their algorithms.   PLEASE fix this or it could be the death of ebay.  I'm certainly looking at my options!!!

I wish Ebay would put back the categories the way they were before this last update. You need to put it back the way it was. I am barely selling anything. It's a shame you don't treat your sellers better. If it weren't for people using your service to sell you wouldn't be the company you are today. Hopefully you get back to your roots and make this a better place to list our items.

My sales down 70% since July 1......my service metric severely impacted as well.     Yesterday my sales were down 98.8%

I certainly understand what deploying new code is......and that there is also a thing called a "sandbox" that you test new code with before you deploy it and dramatically affect the livelihoods of so many sellers that depend on this platform.

How bad could you have screwed this up? (it's a rhetorical question no need to answer)

Furthermore Ebay management a propagated an entire list of well crafted lies to send to you 3rd party technical support teams for sellers to chew on while you try to bury and fix the mess.

I would like and honest response from Ebay Management how they intend to compensate sellers because they acted in bad faith.

My sales have dropped from 6000 in 90 days to 1700 in 90 today. This has been on going since the changes. I am getting very few views.

My sales are down 57.4% since the May 2022 changes.  It's not the economy.  It's something eBay did and they REALLY need to fix it ASAP.

I've called twice about issues I have noticed (replacing my gallery photos with a random photo).  I just noticed yesterday that they switched my listings to a totally different category (not the correct one for my listings). 

This is not a coincidence or the economy or school starting back or....

It's something eBay has done.  

When you call them, you can only talk to the lowest level rep and they put you on hold repeatedly while they pretend they are documenting your issue.

Same here. I'm practically paying people to take my stuff at this point and yet it's still crickets. The shipping fees are outrageous & shipping handlers are more careless than ever-  half of the very few items I've managed to sell have arrived damaged, in spite of being padded & packed & covered in "fragile" stickers. Where is everyone migrating to, now that it appears eBay mgmt has some kind of death wish?

Im with you on this and so many others, Ebay just taking our money, I havent sold anything in 2 weeks and have 45 auctions on, something just is not right and hardly any views, Im ready to be looking somewhere else to sell, I have been on Ebay since 1999

No sales for now over 2 weeks, hardly no views, I have never seen anything like this on Ebay, I look at sold auctions and  they are going less than what Im seelling for,  There looks like to me Ebay has sellers putting stuff up and selling for ALOT of money then next one sells for so much less aand lots have 0 feedback,  Something very fishy going on  I dont get it   my ID  Starz3j
