Up to 3-weeks (21-days) for a buyer to return an item(s).

After a seller gets paid. They must ship the product within (something like) 2-business days.

A buyer on the other hand once they receive it and for whatever reason wants to return it. They get up to 21-days. Doesn't that seem excessive? I could see 5-days or maybe 14-days.

The buyer started the return process. So it isn't as if they're on a tropical vacation. They just opened it and are not satisfied. You send a return label and they get 3-weeks to send it back. Why so long?

Why it is the length has to do with covid.

It's very doubtful they will shorten it back.

It's lower than other marketplaces. Amazon returns stay open for like 50 days.

eBay increased the return time in 2020 due to Covid and never returned it to something reasonable.

I suspect that eBay never will adjust it back to what it was.

I have always found this to be ridiculous as well. I was always concerned that someone could basically "rent" something like a camcorder for example, then return it a couple weeks later, receiving all of their money back. This also aids people who like to try and flip items. If they can't find a buyer in time, oh well. Definitely not a deal-breaker, but something they should correct down the road. Give them 7 days, no need for more. Well, maybe a blizzard, flood, war or riot could allow another day or two lol.

On another note- the seller does NOT just have 2 or 3 days- the Seller has WHATEVER they put as 'handling time', which can be up to 40 days.

They also have 30 days to open the case, and then the 3 weeks starts, so it's around 2 months. Like you ship it in October and get it back in January. lol

30 day returns are pretty much standard in retail.

21 days is not excessive.

30 days in retail means 30 days not 30 days + 21 days?

What other marketplaces give a buyer 51 days+ for a return?

Amazon does not allow you to return anything but cheap, high-margin trinkets from their warehouse beyond the 30 day mark. Many items on Amazon have 15 day returns and the policy for individual sellers on Amazon commensurates with what they are selling. Amazon isn’t giving away items to the extent eBay does.
