At a loss to understand why buyers leave negative feedback without trying to resolve the issue. I will begin screening all buyers for the feedback they leave for others. Only remedy is to block them.

Until very recently you could get negative feedback removed by a CSR if you weren't at fault as a seller. The Seller Performance policy even says in its first paragraph "we always want your seller performance ratings and Feedback to properly reflect the service you provide to your buyers, and will adjust these in situations where we find that you were not at fault". Now all feedback removal requests are handled by a dedicated team. CSRs no longer have the authority to remove negatives. And the emphasis is on "buyer experience". So the buyer can write pretty much leave a negative for any reason they like e.g. 'I bought the wrong product', 'I didn't like the colour of the parcel' and eBay won't remove it. Of course none of this is explicitly stated in eBay's policies probably because many private sellers and some small businesses would think twice about selling on the platform if it was.

Tell me about it. So many more people lately seem to have no interest in communicating or asking for a refund. They just want to leave nasty negative feedback. I just had a guy complaining about shipping fees before the item is even shipped. People can see what the fees will be in advance. Why buy it if you don't agree? He has a history of leaving many negative feedbacks. I'm going to cancel the transaction and refund his money. I don't sell so much that a few dollars is worth the aggravation of impossible to please people.

How would you do that? you don't know who the buyer is until they made the sale and if you cancel too often, or give a reason that's not true, your account will be dinged

I was in a similar situation a few years ago. The CSR advised me to cancel the transaction and then they deleted the inevitable negative feedback. This wouldn’t happen now. The central feedback review team would refuse to remove the feedback and you’d be left with the unfair negative. After 20 years I’ve closed my eBay selling account because of that.

I've had the same problem. This is just a hobby for me so it's not worth the aggravation. I've cancelled a few sales for the same reasons and started screening active bidders when I can. I feel your pain.

I don't see a negative for the OP, did it get removed?

I'm considering that as well. I do better on local Facebook listings or at a basic garage sale. I'm getting tired of not having any options as a seller. EBay should realize they make their money off of sellers.

Hi. I just got my first NEG in years. The woman said the item didn't fit and I told her I would give her a full refund and she could keep the item. I did, however, point out to her via ebay's msgs, that I provided a full description with full measurements, rulers, and photos. I reached out to Ebay to remove the NEG. I've been selling on 3 ebay platforms since 1998. Anyway, Ebay did NOT remove the NEG. Do I feel undervalued? Yes, but Ebay does not care. It still stings...

Keep after ebay. I had to actually call them. Not easy to get someone but worth the effort. Look under help and contact sections.

Just posting on the undeserved Negative Feedback I received. I got this email from Ebay and I'm hoping that my Neg is removed. I filed a defect.

Buyer left negative feedback with zero contact and made un true slanderous, malicious comments about the items I sell. Many attempts were made to contact, exchange offered AND I refunded the item without return to protect my 20 + year rating on ebay. I am requesting this feedback be over turned and removed. Please see the same exact item with MULTIPLE positive feedbacks left by other buyers. Come on ebay, protect me on this one...
NOPE.....Ebay has the WORST customer service

Call them, the number is available under the contact us tab. And KEEP calling them! I'm getting a little tired of people with nothing to lose ruining good sellers.

You used to be able to reject/accept sales by geography and user rating. I would imagine that blocking accounts that have purchased 5 junk items and are a week old are a part of the problem you are experiencing.
If ebay still offers this good seller metric, maybe apply it.
