(This is a SELLER question, not a SHIPPING question.)
For now i'm leaving my shipping prices the same.
I will adjust (raise) them accordingly on a case by case basis.
I just printed out a Medium flat rate box label.
I charged the customer $15 shipping.
The actual label price was $14.
After ebay's cut of about $2.25 i'm actually losing a little money on the shipping
but I make enough profit on the item itself to cover that loss.
I was just wondering how everyone else is dealing with the price increase.

I use calculated shipping for almost all my listings and will continue to do so.
By doing this I can sell items at a more competitive total price for most buyers and do not have to continuously re evaluate i"free shipping" item prices with unstable shipping costs.

I recommend calculated shipping. The price increases are automatically adjusted.

I use Calculated: cost varies based upon buyer location. I have found that to be the least loss generating of shipping for me. Price changes do not truly come into play unless I want to be the lowest listed.

NEVER use anything but calculated shipping, as the carriers change pricing almost weekly, and calculated automatically reflects those changes at Least with USPS...fedex and and ups is a roll of the dice with their surcharge here and fuel fee there and does not charge the label until they deliver it and add on whatever charges they can which rarely reflects the price the buyer is told to pay. Where USPS is locked in unless of course your shipping info is incorrectly listed by you. example if you list it as being 16oz it will go 1st class, but if they audit it and it weighs even slightly over 1lb you will be charged back to your account the difference.

We use calculated

Hieee.
I went through and raised all the standard shipping amounts the last time we chatted about this. I also changed everything over 1 lb to calculated. This way (Hopefully) next week everything will still be inline. We shall see how it works out.

I raised my shipping up a year and a half ago to cover the next 2-3 years in increases. If you're selling online, you should ALWAYS be making money on the shipping. If you charging the exact amount on every order, you will always lose money on every single order. My average shipping cost for First class items is $5.00 and I charge $6.95. $9.95 for padded flat rates & flat rate env/legal flat rate env's. Doing it that way, I never lose money on shipping and I make a little extra to cover all of the cost's associated with shipping. Boxes, tape, labels, fuel, labor etc...
Unfortunately everyone will have to raise your shipping costs eventually. In order to keep up, you either have to find your inventory super cheap or have a bigger store.

going fine, that $0.20-$0.50 increase isn't affecting anything here.

For some items I raised the shipping.
For some items I raised the price.
For some items I raised both the shipping and the price.
For some items I left them alone.
I have never felt that "one size fits" was a good approach to eBay if you are selling one-of-a-kind.

I've spent several hours working to revise my fixed price 1st class listings to calculated. I'm still not finished, since I now need to weigh some things. Using fixed price worked okay for me for a long time, but with all the changes (and more to come this July) I need to make the switch.

So far, i just cry.

Me too. I have always used Calculated for dishes because they are heavy and the difference between a neighboring state and the West Coast is staggering. But for many years I charged flat rate Media Mail for books because the prices were so low, it hardly made a difference. But now I am changing all my Media Mail to Calculated. It won't change by location (yet), but will update when prices are raised.

For very lightweight items I raised shipping to 4.50/4.95 but I still have some listed at 3.95. I don't have the time to go change it. I eat a lot shipping costs - but I am a garage sale seller so it is all the kid's outgrown stuff. I am missing the regional rate boxes. My youngest just cleaned out her room so we have stuff all over the house - I think we are going to consignment sale a lot of that because shipping is getting crazy!

Same as you.
