Total loss of all sales since 5-17-2022

I wish someone from Ebay could answer me oneglassman  for the Total system crash of views, & sales, I have always maintained a TRS and a store for 7 years. My sales were GREAT until Ebay started with this new updated system. I had some 25 to 30 High-end Fenton Art Glass sales until 5-17-2022, I was having great sales just about every day prior to 5-17-2022 now this mess has happened. NO SALES from 5-17-2022 to 5-22-2022. Now I can't send buyers an offer, I normally send 25 to 30 per day, I have sent 7 in the last 6 days.

What is going on with the Ebay I have known for many years? It's not the economy, inflation and gas prices, it is inside the Ebay system. My listings are up to date with Item speciation, great photos and Beautiful Fenton Art Glass.  Something has got to give.  Thanks Roger-oneglassman

I think by now most of the long term sellers are seeing pretty much the same thing.....a total collapse in Ebay sales.

For those of you posting on these boards I suggest you take the time to attend the upcoming ebay open and hammer the doo-doo out of ebay executives (politely) and make your voices known.

If you are lucky enough to get someone's ear have the facts ready to go.  By now there are certainly enough of them.

My working theory at the moment is that on top of the crappy sales where ebay changed something........we are seeing the "end of summer/back to school" slowdown that normally occurs for about a 6 week period during this time.

From July 1 2022 my sales are now down 80%.

I have posted on some of the forums here that ebay is spending a lot less money on advertising (26%) and their organic google results are being replaced by Amazon and Walmart.

I’ve never seen anything like I’m seeing now. It’s just surreal how nothing sells even at liquidation prices, and the few things that do sell are met with NAD’s and high return rates.

that is 1 more sale than me and I have 2,500 listings in a broad array of categories. Actually had a descent Friday with 4 sales for $170, but nothing since. I have sold exactly 4 items over every weekend going back a couple of years. Like clockwork just 4 sales sat thru sun. But this weekend zilch. Everything tanked the last week of MAY. No amount of NEW LISTINGS produces sales anymore. That ALWAYS was a guarantee to kick start sales. This tried and true method that has worked for 8 years does NOT WORK anymore. The sales just keep getting less and less every month.

When I started selling on Ebay I was doing approx. 12-15 hundred a month. This is Sept 1 and sales are so bad Ebay in June July & Aug made more off of me than I made for myself. My sales started declining in 2017-2018. Having to add tax to an item and shipping prices went up. I have not seen an Ebay ad on TV for years. When they did a fashion ad my sales went up which was good. We have a company that rakes in BILLIONS and I am barely hanging on.

Yes, I hate to admit it but I am another seller whose sales have dropped so bad that I can use EBAY as a loss on my taxes! I have tried everything, I used to sell antiques to sports cards to shoes to clothes, then decided to just go niche in books as listing them is faster (I sell new books so don't have to take a zillion pictures) and shipping costs are WAY lower (media mail). I have found even if I sell at 25% store promotion, and I usually am the cheapest listing and I ALWAYS use promoted listings, still sales have become almost zilch. I have sold 3 items this week, when I used to sell 7+ per week...  I can use Amazon as an excuse, but before I list I always check Amazon's prices to be competitive and I almost always list cheaper.  I can use the economy as an excuse, but books, especially with the onset of COVID, have become MORE popular, as many big booksellers couldn't keep their hottest in stock. My best years selling were in 2015-2016, I don't know why, I had the same number of listings then as I do now.  All I can say is that whenever EBAY "improves" something, "changes" something, like when they changed the feedback system, or the payment system, or the new changes this year, it makes it harder for us sellers and hurts our bottom line. I have been selling almost 20 years on EBAY, and it is still the best online selling format for me.  (I have sold on all the other platforms and on FB marketplace). But, the small seller is being constantly squeezed like a lemon and

really, how much more can we take? Do we need somehow establish a union, a union called ONLINE SMALL SELLERS UNION LOL???

I have noticed. I have items on 7 day auctions that get zero views? I have been on here for years and seems very strange to have 0?

yea Auctions with 0 views is unusual because people always likes to see auctions if they make money at these things.

Looks like my sales have bottomed out at about $23K/month less than prior to July 1.

I am not a large sellers and that loss has really HURT.  

Thus far some of my efforts to shift business away from ebay has not gone well......I do have my own website where sell price is less but indexing has now become the issue.

My selling fees are averaging 20%........ so if I can shift business and make 10%  more money will selling less product....I would be ok with that.

My ZOOM call with some of the ebay executives did not go as well as I would have intended it to go....there is certainly a separation of how day to days sellers operate and how executives higher up understand these challenges.

With the exodus of sellers from the Ebay platform....that has certainly made it onto the "higher ups" radar

What you may expect to see Ebay making adjustments in is weeding out the "Bad buyers" on the site.

Statistically 2-3% of buyers/scammers generate about 80% of the extra workload on both sellers and ebay support...... restrict them and things should improve gradually

Same here both my ebay stores are down since ebay made changes,  top rated and sale are down over 90 % over night for last 3 months. An item that would get 50 views a day is lucky to get 5 views a WEEK!!  Now

No advertising is the problem they put nothing back in for all the fees we pay. The ceo’s are making millions and we keep taking the hit. Out of site out of mind . eBay has the best deals but people consider it old.

I am noticing a huge decline in sales on sports cards? Any reason why?

what's the next hottest marketplace for sports cards/colletibles (besides facebook which is doing better than ebay for me)

I unfortunately understand and have noticed a stark decline in sales in the past month. I had a full week of zero sells and that has not happened to me in memory of my time on eBay. I can list as many as I can handle in a day and still get almost no views or sells. Something is certainly happening and it started with the update to view counts. Since then it's been depressingly slow. I'm not a big seller but I've done well over time and relief on certain supplemental income which I've all but lost because of whatever eBay has done.

My ebay sales have finally seemingly bottomed......... a net 60% sales drop since July 1,   views and impressions gradually slid until they hit bottom with a 70%+ decline.

I'm just going to hold on until I can build enough sales elsewhere to move from the platform

I’m a shopper, there search engines are a mess!! You can’t find anything at all and people give up. I know all there glitches because I hve time to shop all day.  
they spend time and money on things that weren’t broken. Money better spent on advertising. eBay is making there money off of giving you more competition through advertising.

I’m a big shopper and even the big guys have items the same items up for months and months. I basically shop for clothes and I can’t believe how low the prices are. I can’t see most of them making a profit. I also see the biggest on eBay not getting new stuff in. eBay is getting paid to give you more competition through advertising the very same product but through another company. So tell me how are u supposed to sell anything 1- search engines are a mess, 2-they get paid to advertise the very item you hve through another company3- they don’t advertise so you get nothing back 4- there fees rules and no free shipping free returns lol
