Top Rated Plus?????

For The Top Rated Plus Sellers, Do you think you get better visibility?, Do you think your sales are better than others who are not Plus??, What discount & benefits do you really get??, Are free returns worth it??, I deal mainly in collectibles, & I do not want people having 30 days to play with, possibly break or damage my item & then get to return it on my buck!, I see they have done away with the free shipping requirement, So that part is good.

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

My philosophy is try it out, and if you don't like it, then discontinue it.

No, I don't.

Otherwise ebay would be touting it.

"Top Rated Plus sellers get better visibility in searches."

@meme6253 ,

If you are so worried about the above I would not do it.  Because if you do offer "Free Returns" it will happen

every so often. To me its a cost of doing business. I don't let stuff like paying for a return bother me.

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

The boost in search returns is for being TRS.  You don't have to have a single listing qualify for TRS+.

You are confusing Seller Status with a Listing Status.  They are not equal.

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

 You can have books be buyer paid returns and still qualify for TRS.  They don't have to be free returns.  There are a few categories like that.  @dhbookds

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

What I hate about the program is that sometimes, you can't ship in 1 day.  An emergency can pop up and then  of course, that is the day that you have several items and can't ship.  Try it if you can get the packages out daily.   If you do Ebay with somebody else who knows all of the details  and can do the packing and shipping for you incase you can't do , then try it out.  My problem is that I do not have a "backup or a partner to help incase I can't do it that day.

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

So I'm not a Top Rated Plus Seller only because for me Free returns are not worth the 10% fee discounts. On my sales of 4000 a month the discount is about 54.00. I sell dinnerware and shipping for just 1 item could be 20.00. I do have 1 day shipping and BUYER PAYS return shipping, which I thing it makes them thing twice before ordering. I get about 4 returns a year and all from buyer remorse, I also get about 6 request for returns or discounted prices but when they see they have to pay the return shipping they drop the return request.  If the item was received broken for some reason I would be on the hook for the return shipping on a broken item. (currently I would just refund the item and not want it back, then file a claim)

TRS is a seller status.  TRS+ is a listing status.  Granted you have to be TRS before you can have any listings designated as TRS+.

You are correct.  You can be TRS with a return policy where the buyer pays return shipping on properly filed Buyer Remorse claims.  And in some cases in some categories that plus a 1 day handling time you can also have your listings qualify for TRS+.

Re: Top Rated Plus?????

I don't believe it does ANYTHING for your listings being showed.

I just tested "mens size 9 black shoe"- came back with 140,000+ listings

The first 5:

a.) none were TRS+

b.) 2 didn't take returns

c.) top one was 'sponsored', the other 4were not.

d.)3 were BIN, 2 were auctions.

e.) the 'no returns' was an auction with less than 200 feedback.

I don't have a back up person either.  I am the only person that does everything from start to finish.

This specific complaint is for all sellers, not just TRS.  If you can't ship within your stated handling time it is a problem and defects may come your way.

For myself, even if I had 1 day handling, 99.9% of the time I would make it.  But sometimes it is very difficult, usually when I'm just not feeling well.  So for myself I decided to stop with the added stress for me to have TRS+ listings.  I went to a 30day return policy with buyer pays shipping and a 2 day handling time.  The few bucks I was saving with the discount was easily made up by less stress on me AND now my buyers have to pay for return shipping if they file a proper Buyer's Remorse claim.

You ARE a TRS, that is a designation for some sellers.  You can see your status as TRS on your Feedback page and on your Seller Dashboard.  You just don't have any listings that qualify for the discount which is what TRS+ is.

For some of the same reasons as you, I don't have any listings that qualify for the discount as I explained in my previous post to another poster.

@stainlessenginecovers

You are correct.  It is TRS status that enables a seller to have a boost in the search returns.

TRS+ listing have nothing to do with it.  It has always been your seller status.

Exactly. If you offer free returns, the risk isn't much greater with 60 days than it is with 30 days, and little real difference between 14 days and 30 days. Statistically, most returns are brought within the first few days.

Absolutely. At my B&M retail job I would say probably 95% of our returns happen within a week of purchase even though we offer 60 day returns.
