I’ve never listed a counterfeit item. Never. I’ve never had items removed for being counterfeit until the past two weeks. It is now happening often, specifically in the hats category. I am on my final warning and I am afraid to continue listing. If this is happening to you, you aren’t alone. This is terrifying and I am not sure how to proceed. Here is one of the ‘counterfeit items’ that was removed. It appears the brands: John Deere, Budweiser, Bud Light, Starbucks, Walmart, October’s Very Own, Monster Energy, Walmart, Ontrac, Nortrax, Chevrolet, and Ford are impacted.

They really shouodnt be testing it on active seller accounts on the live platform. They are going to screw over sellers doing nothing wrong for false problems like this. They will destroy sellers accounts over testing.
You never test on the live network with real peoples accounts. You dont jeopardize peoples accounts and you dont jeopardize the live system that way.

Are you sourcing your hats from manufacturers who are licensed to use the trademarks?
If you are not or do not know whether they are licensed, you see the results.
Given the heavy publicity given to counterfeit merchandise on the Internet, Ebay has had to adopt the practices of other Internet marketplaces and take down many items which abuse intellectual property rights. This includes trademarks, copyrights and patents.

I did a little research, and it looks like Ontrac is a Canadian distributor for John Deere equipment.
????
I think we all know that even John Deere and Harley Davidson have outsourced manufacturing to other countries. They are no longer what I call U.S.A. made.

Verified Rights Owner Program | Seller Center (ebay.com)
I do not see most of the brands you listed, so could it be manufacturer takedowns instead of brand takedowns?
Counterfeit item policy | eBay
I was going to add what was mentioned above, John Deere is a VERO member.

This is because of the Certilogo AI. It is being done automatically with no human intervention. This hat specifically was directly from the dealer (my former company bought two skid steers from them and we received a dozen hats). It is not for the reasons you mentioned and they are testing it in the hats category right now.

I hadn't heard of that so I looked it up and found this article. Wow so eBay is slowly unleashing an AI to take down items that it thinks are counterfeit but it's obviously really bad at it. I wonder how this will go down once they unleash it on all fashion categories.
Yikes

I am going to discount all my clothing items by 10% a month until they are gone. Once this fully rolls out, I don’t want to be anywhere near the categories they are going after.

You may find this YouTuber's video helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH1MAiAzIXI&t=2486s He talks about the brand stated in the title matching the brand stated in Item Specifics early on in the video.

Try inserting "™ " or "®" after the brand's name in your listings.

But they do. It's the "ebay way" to beta test new stuff on the live site.

They Look Authentic, They do not look Counterfeit, So it must be a trademark, copyright, Or patent issue!

People have gotten away selling trademarked items on items that were never approved to sell with it for awhile.
The bots will clean that up.
The problem with this technology is the false flagging. I suspect the false flag rate is very high, which hurts legitimate sellers.
