This Forum Is Functioning Way Too slow

It takes about 4 minutes before I can type the Subject Field, and another 4 to 6 minutes to load a picture and finish typing. This forum needs to work on DSL. It is functioning way too slow.

This is the message presented on the bottom of the page, left hand corner. And it just sits there for a very long time while the page is locked up and doing something incredibly slowly in the background.

That's a 'you' thing; not happening to me and probably most everyone else. Reboot computer.

This forum doesn't work fast enough with DSL. Other people have said the same thing.

I’m in Canada and I’ve had a fibre-optic connection for a couple of years now, but prior to that it was DSL and I never had the problems you’re describing.  Is this a recent development?  What sort of device(s) are you using?  Do you use an ad-blocker?

Same here, except the Canada part 🙂  I'm on fiber now, but was on DSL for most of the last 25 years & never had a problem with forum slowness, nor have I heard of others having an issue.   It's something to do with OP's setup or PC.

I’m streaming Lost in ultra HD and reading/posting on here and I have no issues.

Restart your computer. Can also try your browser with add-ons/extensions disabled. Or try a different browser altogether.

You bring on DSL shouldn't matter.

I'm on cable internet and I've been having that problem with the forum.

Other sites seem to be working fine.

I'm having the problem with lag time after writing message, waiting for it to post takes a minute or more.......but also having problems with stuff loading on other sites.....so not sure it isn't "me".....my internet connection......  Other functions on ebay seem ok.......no problem sending messages thru SH.......

everything is updated/done reboot........firefox browser

Good heavens, dial-up wasn't that slow. 

Clear cache and cookies. Reboot.  Check your extensions and add-ons and see what happens as you -- temporarily -- disable one after the other. Try different browsers.  If you use anti-virus software, make sure you have the newest version of it and then run it in  whatever its "complete check" mode is. 

Do a thorough system check.  If you don't know how, Google something like system check Windows / Linux / Mac [whatever your OS is]   See if you have a resource hog, or if your memory is running so low that swap files are being created.  Et cetera.  Just look for anomalies.

I have the lag time while typing and problems with pages loading and browser just freezing up.

I don't know what the problem is, but so far today, it seems to be working better.

Ebay and other sites or doing ok, it's just when I'm in the forum.

It just started this last week or so.

I'm using FireFox, cleared everything, rebooted, scanned my system a few times and nothing helped.

I'm on DSL; works fine. Again- it's a 'you' thing. Internet Connection (sometimes DSL shuts down); Computer, Cookies, Cache

Again, try reboot.

When the forums got slow for me (I'm on DSL connection that is really slow) I turned off as much stuff on these forums as I could such as the signatures. Now the posts are bare-bones and don't seem as slow as before.
