Why oh why does E-bay feel compelled to change things that have worked splendidly for years?
I don't understand what's going on with my views which have helped me tremendously over the last 22 years in determining how I price my items depending on how many people are looking. This is one of more ridiculous and detrimental changes yet. All I can say to the E-Bay gremlins, If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT..so frustrating

Because they say the #of views haven't been "honest"...........they aren't real people........rather bots who can't "buy" items. You will be able to use the same strategy just on a lower number of views........

it's an eye opener for sure seeing items on Ebay sitting there with ZERO views from "real people" (for days and days and days).....getting less views on Ebay than any other site.
seriously - I sell on much smaller lesser known sites and get REAL views from REAL people all day (oh, AND sales....views + sales on teeny tiny lesser known sites)
so what is the point of doing ALL the work to list here anymore + deal with the potential scammers and constant technical issues? !
yeah yeah...if it's bad here why keep trying or listing here? well...like many others I hope they turn this thing around and get back to the great site it once was (don't worry, not holding my breath but still wish/hope that would happen)
Ebay got too big for it's britches and is scaring all the decent sellers away 😞

If anything, the new approach to displaying views should help you even more, since they're now an honest reflection of how many people have actually viewed your listing(s) in the last 30 days.

Well, um, that would seem to make sense, statistically speaking. The smaller the site, the fewer the listings, the more likely someone will view it or buy it. Conversely, the amount of competition and sheer number of listings on a large site would produce fewer views/sales.
You have very few listings, and I'm not sure the economy will support $65 used t-shirts and the like.

Do we know if these 'new' views are true?
If so, then I am truly screwed. I'm seeing an ocean of zeros.

Yes, I've read the update. Apparently, however, dozens and dozens of other sellers haven't, since there seems to be no end to threads posted regarding this topic.
How do you know the new view count is "true?" You don't. You can choose to rely on it or not, based on your own beliefs.
If you're seeing "an ocean of zeros," it might be time to try to reason out the cause and take whatever action you feel appropriate.

The issue is the 'rolling 30 days'. If they would have just 'got rid of the bots' and gave true numbers; even if they have to start from 0 to do it, would be the only true way to do this.
If on April 1 you had 10 views, it would show '10' on May 1st (really 10 more but for example sake)
But, on May 2nd, it would show 0 views because those 10 dropped off (assuming nobody looked on April 2nd; or 10 less but for example sake)
For those that record views and then look 1 day, 3 days, 7 days later; record and do the math to see how many have 'viewed' items in that time period; is now impossible to do.

My point in listing here is that I get sales and do not have to deal with scams or technical issues.
If you are dealing with scams and constant technical issues, only you can answer why you still have listings here.

I am having the same feelings on this as you are. I am a long time seller on EBay. This all feels like a major push towards promoted listings and a kick out the door to smaller volume lower priced item sellers. The only thing that a “true” listings view has done for me is question why I’m selling on eBay when no one is looking at anything. Oh wait they’re all looking at promoted listings.
