Has anyone else had there accounts suspended over selling aunt Jemima branded products. eBay has suspended both of my accounts for 3 days over it and yet you can do a search band there is literally thousands of hits for a search for Aunt Jemima

Maybe you missed the Virginia mayor who recently called Kamala Harris, "Aunt Jemima'?
08-15-2020 10:24 AM
yes I missed that, I could of used a good laugh, what an insult to "Aunt Jemima ". Aunt Jemima is a syrup container has nothing to do with Harris.

Uh..it was an insult, with the 'mammy'slave image of Aunt Jemima.

How much longer will a copy of Tom Sawyer be allowed? I supposed the "sanitized" one would ok.

The usual motivation for wanting to sell banned items is pure unadulterated greed. This is not a constitutional crisis.

Yes, the Restricted Items policy is very selectively enforced with the big time sellers often given a pass. For example, lock pick sets are prohibited but sellers from China sell thousands of these on eBay. Also it varies widely depending on who at eBay decides to remove your listing. For example, thousands of military surplus gas masks have sold on eBay, but I've had one listing for a 50 year old mask removed because the imbecile eBay employee told me that all military surplus gas masks are prohibited.

I had read that the 'Huckleberry Finn' book will have an abridged version to remove the offensive word, so that the book can be kept in school libraries. Maybe thats what they'll do with Tom Sawyer, and Uncle Tom's Cabin, otherwise they will be removed from libraries..that offensive word should be removed. I wouldnt want my granddaughter seeing that word in a book.Or anywhere else either.

Depends if they were listing them before the crisis, and not trying to profit on the Pandemic.

Actually, the descendants of Lillian Richard AKA "Aunt Jemima", are super angry people want to cancel her.
Her family stated erasing her is erasing history.
You call Aunt Jemima a quote "Offensive Racial Stereotype." Actually, no she's not. She was a human being that people loved and respected, not an object. Liberal media is just dragging this lady's name thru the mud.
Would you like it if someone wiped your family's history and told you everyone in your family is an offensive racial stereotype?
Its a lady smiling on the front of a bottle of syrup, there is nothing offensive about it.

Actually the one that was greatly offended, is a great grandson of the actress who posed as Aunt Jemima for the box cover..Harrington, cant remember her first name..I read about it..this grandson then took Quaker Oats to court, claiming they had stolen Harringtons recipe for pancakes..forget how many millions he sued for..the case was tossed out of court.

And actually, Lillian Richard was just another actress who portrayed Aunt Jemima on the box cover, and whose family received profits from that picture.

“Hell no, I’m not resigning,” he told the newspaper Monday.
He thought his Aunt Jemima comment was cute and funny, he later admitted as much, along with his "apologies.
Like most arrogant racists and woman haters, they feel invincible.

Should it be surprising? Its the same group of people who demonize and stereotype law enforcement, then turn around and scream racism over a bottle of waffle syrup.

Wouldn't it better to have her see the "word" so then you could explain that the "word" should never be used because it is offensive to anyone with 1/2 a brain. If you erase the word from history it has more of a chance of reappearing in future generations because they have not been taught the "word " is offensive. erasing history is not the answer, I think eduction is. We still live in a free country, you and I both have our right to our views.
