Sudden drop in sales May 2022

I am pretty sure the computer nerds at eBay know exactly how to do anything they want with the platform. I've heard this theory that the code has been changed so much since the original programmers that the new programmers can only put band-aids on it or whatever. And then throw in AI and you have maximum overdrive.

But riddle me this, when they wanted to make PL's calculate like FVF's on the total sale, that was changed flawlessly. Same with changing the minimum ad rate from 1% to 2%. When they changed the counter to 30 days instead of lifetime......flawless. There ARE flaws, just not with eBay's programmers programming the changes they want to happen.

BTW, there has never been one error that was in my favor, not even a penny. eBay is spot-on, as they say.

really? flawless? How do you thin explain the counters not working right for months after the new counter was implemented? How do you explain all view counts going to zero last week and still aren't right? How do you explain PL programing freezing campaigns where you get 0 impressions and zero clicks? How do you explain any programming as "flawless" when your not a programmer? Changing election rate minimal isn't as complex as an algorithm or AI either - it's one click of delete in the code on the min rate in the program and a few clicks to change the value... which likely they don't even need to do they likely have a module for the "controls"

This screen shows how stats are changing on my account, at 1:30PM today the stat for Impressions on PL Dashboard was up 0.16% now it's up 0.79%, early this morn it was negative - same with CTR - however the stats via PL Dash and Stats on the Overview page don't match - this is what I was meaning earlier today. It's the dash is counting by the day, and resets daily, but the overview page stats by month??? idk...lol

Today I have an issue creating daily traffic reports. When i pick for example 11.11-11.11 it reverts to look at 2 days 11.11-11.12 instead. It does it for any day picked.

they can just leave stuff alone, Oct was good, they could have just left it as was and both sides be making money. Now whatever they did, really messed all kinds of stuff, you ask for eggs - hard - they give you scrambled with mystery meat.

All of this reminds me of when they imposed Managed Payments on us! The first few months was a disaster – we got bank overdrafts, payments at first took up to nine days to appear in the account.

Couldn't ship, had no cash! Had to borrow money to stay afloat through the ordeal. We almost crashed!

We scrambled – didn't know what to do? Okay – we made it thru! Then required item specifics – we freaked out! We would have had to add these dumb item specifics (superfluous as they are) to 20 thousand items! That much time would have killed us! Okay got thru that mess! NOW this bots removal, changing the view / watch count, PL's not working! Search engines not working! Oh forgot

FVF on shipping???? Since May, as we all commiserate about, (falling on deaf ears) sales

have tanked big time! We have lost thousands of dollars in sales each month since May! Rent is coming due again, and so far we can't pay out bills! Falling on deaf ears seems to be the main issue here!

IDK what the "issue" is atm with PLs...my newest campaign is getting higher impressions, clicks, but only 1 sale on PLS...makes no sense, others I know and have talked to are having reverse effect on their new campaigns, less impressions, less views, less sales...seems the less sales is the common factor this week and what exactly is the issue who knows, could be less buyers due to cyber monday/black friday coming up....people do "hold off" for those shopping days but idk, still feel something isn't right that ebay changed last week.

And yet again another disappointing week.  Thought I would have some sales... had a couple but this is beyond ridiculous.  This is the WORST Christmas/Holiday season I have EVER had in 10 years.  Been through a lot of economical crisis in the past 10 years but nothing compares to this!!

Sadly, this is eBay related and doesn't say much about how wonderful eBay and their programmers are doing.  Are they EVER going to fix this nasty mess they've made?

It really does stink. From 11/13-11/18 we thought our sales were coming back to normal and then on 11/19 they just dropped off by a lot yet again. Sales have been much lower than normal when compared to even years past pre- and post-covid.

I honestly do not think they care to fix this mess TBH. It is bad enough the economy is in the tanker which doesn't help matters at all, but when eBay continues to mess around with PL S/A + the algorithm, it is not doing us any good.

Another big issue that I have noticed for years (it has gotten worse these last few months) and I keep telling support is the Service Metrics. They have really skewed the percentages in favor of eBay, it is not even funny anymore. Now even reporting false SNADs are not being removed and/or decreasing the percentages like they should be.

All those numbers don't are completely Meaningless! 

eBay continues to add crap everyday to avoid the real number a business needs to focus on and that's PROFITS!

And there are NONE here!

I can sell more items at a swap meet in One day than I can here ALL month. Truth!

Seems like NEW inventory gets traction whereas older items do not ... 

I acquired an inventory Lot on Nov 17 and listed very quickly- 48 total Listings on eBay ... Nov 19 was the first day things started to sell ... so less than 10 day later I am down to 12 listings left and at 79% profit margin (50% is my target).

I listed 14 items for a friend on Nov 21, nothing extremely valuable BUT 5 lots already have bids the first listing cycle.

I just finished listing an inventory lot from Nov 22.  I got 52 Listings out of it and so far 8 have bids or sold already ...
