The eBay Branded Supply folks finally got the box size in I prefer ... so when I went to buy my normal 2 cases of 25 boxes my Subscriber Discount came whoafully short of giving me any purchasing advantage. 1 case would mean left over unusable coupon value and 2 boxes would push my Price per box over $ 2.00 ...
I used to be able to get the same thing for 22 cents per box and then it climbed to 47 cents per box ... at $ 2 per box it is worthless and not using the entire coupon is worthless too, I would just rather get $ 50 off one month's Store Subscription and then I will get my boxes elsewhere ...
When is eBay going to man up and raise the Subscriber discounts to offset inflation increases??? I was pretty disgusted when I went through the process this evening and simply closed the page. Not helping Sellers is NOT contributing to "enhancing the Buying experience" (eBay credo) in my view.
So am I unhappy about this, yes, no sense trying to hide the truth.
And no, I am not interested in buying stuff I don't want, would never use, just to fill out the coupon value if I only buy one case of boxes instead of 2 ...
The $ 50 per quarter Premium Store coupon needs to be raised to somewhere between $ 75 and $ 100 AND be done before the end of 1st quarter this year. That would NOT break eBay's pocketbook and would be a nice show of support for Sellers ... i am surprised this hasn't already been done to be honest.

The $25 coupon has always been useless. When will you realize that eBay doesn't give anyone, anything.
Your in for a rude awakening when you decide to leave the house and see what hyper-inflation really is. Think of the guy at the gas station with the long stick raising the price of gas every morning. Well, now there's a guy raising prices on everything, everyday. Not just small increases, but 100%-500% increases.

eBay is an for-profit business that does not specialize in shipping supplies or retail fulfillment.
Of course they are not going to be competitive.

Hey @mr_lincoln thank you for your detailed feedback. We'll be glad to pass this suggestion along to the appropriate teams for consideration.

LOL when I get or see a box or package with that tape I call them "clown boxes". Oh man, just a few weeks ago I received one fairly large one that was more than 50% covered with it.

The eBay board would not be involved in something as mundane as that.

“We’ve listened to our sellers. Starting July we are eliminating quarterly coupons.”

I think people here are vastly overestimating the value of the eBay logo on a box. Who sees it besides the seller, the postal worker, and the buyer?

Every person in every postal facility that handles it, every person who walks/drives by a porch with one visible/every person who gets the box from the buyer who reused it....... I don't overestimate it....but it does bring ebay to the attention of some.......walking into/out of our small PO....brings an "ebay" comment from some people. If they used the color logo......would work better in my opinion.

@the_fancy_fox I agree about the tape and besides, I tape my labels to my packages with clear tape, so how would one read the label using the eBay tape??? I see that stuff on boxes at the Post Office and it is just plain gaudy ...
The first gyrations of eBay Boxes had white ink (the antithesis of Amazon's black ink) and then that two colored bluish circle logo thing ... talk about driving up pricing!!! I advised them to use the black ink that most board suppliers have standard in their factories (I have been through many over the years by the way).
I use a glue stick to stick my labels ito the package and then I tape them down with clear tape.

Unboxing on social media. It's a thing.

Which is why I have so much of the “clown tape” left. (I like that, the circus is here! ….. great…. Next time I see one at the po I know I’m going to hear that song in my head… send in the clowns………)
I tape up the cheaper items I’ve sold with the clown tape. The more expensive stuff gets regular packing tape and the real expensive or real large boxes gets reinforced tape.

I downgraded my store so only get a 25 dollar coupon quarterly. I have only used it once since there is nothing you can get for 25 dollars. I know taking 25 dollars off a pack of 25 boxes makes the boxes okay in price, but I don't buy boxes.
But I knew that particular store perk was going to be worthless to me when I downgraded the store subscription.
I do agree that the value of the coupon needs to increase. Just as long as the store subscription does not also increase.

Heh, I probably have several hundred eBay boxes of all sizes, and unopened mylar envelope packages, left over from our selling days. Maybe someone will want it at our next yard sale.

Use your shipping coupon to buy item priced well and sell the item on eBay if you don't want the items purchased.
01-26-2023 08:16 AM
Thought of that. People are selling the tape at a price with free shipping that would not cover the cost of shipping. I did consider that option. The numbers do not compute.
