Stoopid 1099 question (not related to the on again off again $600 threshold)

We have always travelled at Christmas, so I am normally closed down at the end of the year and have never had to deal with this. This year we stayed home and so I left the store open.

I vaguely remember discussions on this in the past, but my search kung foo is off, and I could not find the thread with the definitive answer from eBay. The ones I could find had conflicting answers and definitions for the settlement date.

When does a sale count for the 1099?

Does the sale $$ on the 1099 count on

Option 1 - When the buyer pays aka funds still potentially processing

or

Option 2 - When the payment has processed and is available for disbursement to me

or

Option 3 - When the funds are actually disbursed to me (so with weekly payments, sales from Dec 27 - 3rd Jan would be on the 1099 for 2023)

I believe it is option 3 based on what I am seeing but want to confirm.

"As Form 1099-K is an IRS information return, it includes the gross amount of all reportable payment transactions within a calendar year, based on when funds settle to eBay, not necessarily when funds are received by sellers."

This is NOT accurate.

Run a REPORT in PAYMENTS and the date you see the 'negative' (why they show as negative beats me) that was sent to your bank, is the correct DATE.

Of course not.  That would mean that eBay would be reporting unpaid Sold transactions, which is not the case. The question is when does eBay "count" a PAID transaction.

There are no stoopid questions.
OR:  The only stoopid question is the one you don't ask.

That said:  see the 9:00 a.m. response from nobody*s_perfect, message 2 of 5, with a hyperlink to eBay's own procedure.
