I spoke with ebay about this issue this morning - I have done a test with 7 firneds that list on ebay - several use ink frog to do their listing, several use Auctiva and several list directly on ebay not through any listing service. As of today, no matter what browser is used all of us can see any listing normally as it should appear while using a traditional desk top computer. If we look at the same listing (or any listing for that matter) on any type of laptop - the full descripiotn is not showing - just bits and pieces with a link that say "click here to read full description" and no photos until that link is clicked as well. Basically the lapstops for some reason are getting the stripped down version that would be on a mobile phone. This is a huge problem. SPoke to ebay to let them know and I am sure it has something to do with some of the active content changes - but same listings should not show differenlty on a lap top versus a desktop. I hope they can fix this issue as so many people use laptops these day. This is not a 3rd party listing service issue as it is also happening with listings that are created on ebay direclty.

Then you are currently not in the test.
Some of the listings I've looked at where the seller only put 1 photo in the ebay hosting and then the rest in their description will suffer if the prospective buyer doesn't click the see description button to see the rest of the photos. Maybe this is a ploy by eBay to get everyone to host their photos in ebay hosting so they can snatch them all up when we can no longer opt out of ebay having access to all of our photos?

Thank God for that! This is one time I am happy to be excluded.

Give it time! They tested it twice back in 2015 .. once in March and again in July ... maybe even more but those are all that I could remember or find any threads about.

I quit hoping ebay would stop making bad decisions because they keep doing things without thinking about the consequensces and it just ends up being a mess - they change their minds continually about thing like communication with customers etc - one minute they want good communication the next they don't want you to communicate at all. I just try and keep up with the changes and work with it as best I can - been on here since the beginning and it is "a meer shell of it's former slef" if you know what I mean.

SAD ebay, SAD! This is a problem they already realized and are going right back to it. I hope this doesn't mean ebay is going under but why else do something you know to be a bad idea...
Because someone else higher up thinks it's a GOOD idea, even after being proven wrong many times.
And they could cut down on a lot of data if they didn't send 50 unwanted spam emails every day to everyone.
And for mobile users, there is a mobile site.

@apsolutions Can you please supply a sceen shot of each example you are talking about? We have both lap and desk top computers here ... not really sure I understand what you are talking about other than maybe by laptop you really mean a tablet. Also, please supply the screen size for the "laptop" type you are talking about. That kind of info would be really helpful.

You're probably right.
Everything I look at is just fine. Other listings or my own, just as they should look. Sales are coming in just fine, both yesterday and this morning, so I know this isn't affecting everyone, and buyers can apparently see and purchase just fine.
eBay messing stuff up again for something to do. Job security.

I mean any type of lap top vs looking at the screen on a desktop computer. I was able to fix how it looked by clearing out the entire browser history on the lap top and restarting itl Ebay is making changes and updates and what is happeneing is they are showing a different version of poeples listings on the phone apps that what we see on the computers - and what was happening was when I looked at listings on my lap top - the abreviated version of thing were showing so - under "description" part of a sentence would show and then there would be a blue link that said "click here to see full description" instead of just showing the photos and the entire write up about the item. This is an issue since it is hard to get buyers to read anything. I a, slo hearing intermittent issues like this from other people so maybe there is a beta test or an update with issues going on - I always check both to make sure my listings can be seen well via every mode of viewing for maximum sales potential.

Last time eBay did this you couldn't view any of the important info posted by the seller. Sellers were worrying about SNAD returns. eBay's at it again. Some sellers are only seeing a small line of text for the entire description, and need to click a link too see the rest of the text, and the photos are hidden so that you have to click to see them also. Not good.

Problem exists on desktops and latops, and iffers for everybody. It also matters what browser you use, and even that is not consistent. I have problems in chrome but not Internet explorer, but EBAY rep had no problems in chrome, but had it in Internet explorer.
Some people say they have success by clearing browsers, but there is no expectation that normal EBAY potential buyers or users would know how or try to clear browers etc.
EBAY needs to fix this problem from thier end ASAP.

I"m free! I'm free!
In Firefox I went to the options and just removed all the eBay cookies in there. Closed the browser, reopened, went to eBay and had to re-sign in which then placed a few eBay cookies but .... but ...
I don't see that dang button anymore. I'll keep you posted if I eventually get put back into the test but for now everything is back to normal. Now I wish I had written down which eBay cookies I deleted that didn't come back. LOL

The "Click to view entire description" box was related to a "new" eBay requirement to use SSL for security issues ("new" being mid-late 2017).
If your pictures (or other external links) use an "http" reference, change them to "https" (assuming you have an SSL socket). I had the same issue; I added an SSL socket, changed the picture references to https and it fixed all the issues.
