Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

I as many have items that of course don't sell and end up on my unsold items list.

Recently I went in to relist a specific item that ended less than 2 months ago.  It is nowhere to be found,  though older items do show up.  Is anyone having similar problems?  I can't find it anywhere on ebay though much older items are showing up.  I even tried to do a google image search to try to find hte image that would then hopoefully give me a link back to the original ebay listing,  but had no luck at that as well.  Any suggestions.  If it's happened with this item,  I can only imagine the number of less significant items that have dropped off the radar.  I thought items stayed on ebay in general for 3 months?  I'm pretty sure that's how long feedback for a particular item can be left,  so the item has to be in teh system,  Somewhere.

There are many other glitshces with ebay messages , tracking upload etc.  But we'll handle one gripe at a time.

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

Depends - is the listing an auction or fixed price?

Normally if you list an item that does not sell the first time and hit the "relist" button - ebay will run it a second time - but sometimes it falls off the face of the earth - that is why it is a good thing to save the ID listing number - so you can type it in other locations like watchcount and find it again.

If you select the "sell SImilar" the listing remains - now for 30 days (maybe 60 for Seller hub Users).

If you select Fixed Price - it normally stays for 30 days and does not disappear until the constant use of re-list instead of sell similar.  It is a hassle to select Sell SImilar all the time - and then I delete the old listing - but it keeps the items fresh - ebay is into keeping items that sell and releasing space for those that do not on the 2nd time around.

That would make sense, but this item actually hadn't been relisted yet,  which is why I was concerned.  Worst of all it was one of thoser that had a detailed description and photos to support it.  Now I have to do it all over again.

All for making the site more user friendly I Guess for everyone but the sellers.

Have they yet to make any changes that are beneifial on here as a seller?

Knowing that eBay is not the most stable platform, I don't understand why one would not keep back ups of items.  Save all your pictures on something like Picaso (free) and all your descriptions on Word.  Makes it easy to recreate any lost data.

Did you try Advanced Search?      Under the "Search Included" section, select "Completed Listings" then scroll down to the "Seller" section where you can say want to see listings from a particular seller.  Put in *your* ID and the click "Search."

That will bring up a a list of all auctions/BINs that you ran and ended no matter whether they were sold or not.  I can't remember, but I think the list goes back probably 2-3 month's in time.

If that doesn't work, you could try this link:  www.listinghostory.com    It *might* help, though what the site archives is mostly eBay collectible-category items so maybe not, depending on what your original/lost listing was for.

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

Backups would be too time consuming.  I list 30 items or more every night.  I would spend more time trying to back up stuff that wasn't necessary.  The idea is for everything to sell the first time through.  Usually it does.  I don]t understand why this didn''t other than it was right before christmas.  Always a bad time to list unless it's seasonal related.

If I did alot less listings of more valauble items,  this would probably make alot of sense.

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

I just tried that and it seems it will only pick up sold items and not the unsold. The listing history.com Didn't work as a link for me. Is that the way it's listed? I got a can't open the page then to a domain that's for sale.

The first suggestion I game you should bring up ALL COMPLETED items regardless of whether they were sold or unsold.   You must not have checked "Completed" as I just tried it.  Here's one of the items that comes up THAT WASN'T sold when you run this search:

Sorry, there was a typo in the website address I gave you earlier that might also be helpful.  Correct one is:  http://www.listingshistory.com

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

It pulled up recent unsold, but not the earlier, more than 6 weeks and more listings. In fact, according to eBay I haven't had an unsold item anytime in December or January. Boy I wish that were true. I'll give the other search a try. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that @randyshotrods, but as I mentioned up-thread, I wasn't sure how far back you can go using that method though I believe it is 60 days.    I thought I'd throw it out as I've had success using it when I've had a problem like yours, but I must have been looking for something that had ended unsold more recently than a couple of months in arrears.

Out of curiosity, do you know the item #?   What about the title?  (Doesn't have to be exact -- just even keywords you're pretty sure were used would be helpful.)   There may be another way to find your listing.  If you can provide the above info, I'm willing to see if I can find it for you.

If you can't remember the Item #/Title you should be able to find that via your eBay itemized invoice/s for the month that the listing was first (or most recently) posted.

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

I joined the site you mentioned, but for some reason have yet to receive the email to confirm my membership.
I don't have the item number, but the title should have the keywords 1969 Ford Mustang Showroom Picture Poster . There were other words but that is the ones that should get it for the most part. I tried doing a google image search with those and came up dry. Almost all my stuff has the red back ground in it. I'm 99 percent sure that did as well. If I get the confirmation, I'll try that site. Might be worth bookmarking anyways. Thanks again for your help.

@randyshotrods

I wouldn't lose sleep over whether the www.listingshistory.com site login credentials have come back to you yet or not as as I mentioned up-thread the site may or may not be of help to you.  The site tends to only track collectible items and I'm not sure the category you sell in is one they monitor/archive.

I tried searching the site using my login. I couldn't find anything, but on the other hand, the site tends to yield better results when you have an item number.

I also tried doing some Googling for you, and I couldn't come up with anything based on your eBay ID and the possible keywords you mentioned.  Again, having an Item # usually gives better results.

The only other thing I can suggest is that *sometimes* it's possible to retrieve old listings IF you have the item number by trying this search:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/XXXXX

(Substitute the item number of your listing for the X's.)

As I mentioned previously, you should be able to locate the item number by looking at the detailed eBay invoice for the month in which you listed the item.  The number also is included on the confirmation email you received from eBay when you listed the item.  If you keep those emails, it probably would be quickest to search your email folder by keyword to find the corresponding email rather than going through your detailed invoices for the month in question.

@p.s.  If/when you reply to me (or anyone) specifically on these discussion boards, enter the @ sign and a small pop-up box will come up.  Select the name of the person you are responding to and that will send a notification to that person informing them you responded to their post.  Otherwise, they will never know you have.  Without using this convention, it makes it  much more difficult for others to find your thread to see if there have been any responses/updates.

Re: Some unsold items not showing up in my eBay pages to relist.

@randyshotrods

Forgot to mention in my last post.  I tried running  a more refined search on your "Completeds" via eBay's "Advanced" search tool.

The results go back to November 24, 2017 -- so it's possible to view past listings up to 90 days old using that search tool.  I could not find any listings (sold or unsold) that matched the keywords you provided  (1969 Mustang Showroom Poster) among your listings that ended during the past 90 days.

That leaves two possibilities:  1)  Either the keywords are not accurate; or 2) The item listing ended before November 24, 2017.
