Sold a piece of electronic clearly stated it doesn't work and listed as spares/repairs.
Buyer sent me some messages with photos saying/admitting that he took the item apart and it is 'beyond' reparable. He want's a refund.
Where do i stand? He already left negative feedback which was removed by eBay.
Thanks

Don't get in a back and forth with the buyer that will only backfire on you and cause you problems you can avoid.
Simply respond to them to Return for Refund.
While that is likely not what you actually want to happen, it is in your best interest to do that. If the buyer responses again saying they just want a partial refund, then you know for sure they are just trying to bully you a bit. Respond ONLY with what you said before. Please return for refund.
They will either go away never to be heard from again or they will return the items.
If they actually go through with returning the items, then once you get them back, get in contact with Ebay and have them review the messages they sent you saying they had altered the item or items. Hopefully Ebay would stand with you on this, but it is hard to tell until they review whatever evidence you have.

I looked at your recently sold items and didn't find a listing where the item condition was for parts or not working.
Awhile back eBay used to decide case by case, and if your listing description said it doesn't work and you don't know what's wrong with it or what it will take to fix it, or if it can be fixed, so therefore you're selling it for parts only, and the item condition specifics said for parts or not working then eBay would side with you.
If a buyer shortened and hemmed a skirt and there was an eBay message affirming they altered it and the seller's policy was no returns eBay wouldn't allow them to return it.
Those are bygone days.
Nowadays you can't ask eBay to decide. If you escalate a case you automatically get a defect for a case not resolved by the seller.
it's all about the buyer. You get your item back and they get their money back.

We do have the same policy for "returning an item buyer" as in the UK. The url after ebay.com/ or ebay.co.uk/ is identical. blah/blah blah ?id=4041

He took his electronic item apart and made it into a parts goulash. Thats not your problem. He did what he wanted with his item.
