Hopefully, Trinton can answer your question! @Anonymous

Probably the message you sent contained information that triggered the automatic filter
of ebay algorithm for suspicius activity. Its normal they don't know because probably this is a fully computerized job. They only person who knows is the programmer i guess. 🙂

You are most likely correct, geo, but the question remains ~ how does a seller go about giving pick-up instructions for a local pick-up only listing without triggering a warning? Is a seller expected to resort to "meet me on the corner of Hollywood and Vine ~ I will be wearing a Red Sox baseball cap?

How about using the "Request contact info" option?

I suppose that would work but you would have to let the buyer know how to do that and I am wondering if the word "contact info" in a message would also generate a warning? There really should be an easier way to do this for local pick-up listings ~ after all, the "buyers experience" is first and foremost on eBay's mind, right? I can just imagine what the OP's buyer is thinking now that they have received a warning...not warm and fuzzy would be my guess.

Why would you make the buyer do it? The seller can do it.

You don't need buyer to participate you just use the request contact info link in advanced search(upper right of page next to search box). You will be sent buyer phone number and they will get yours

Did the buyer get a warning? I really, really want to know the answer to this question.

Supposedly when this happens both parties get warned.

It will probably get to the point that some sellers will quit answering their messages altogether because nearly any word or comination of syntax would trigger punishment from the Wehrmacht in San Jose for trying to do something suspicious. It is getting ridiculous. They are actually slowly killing their own company and are too stupid to see it.

I want to hear the answer to this one. I have a hanging local pickup and I have to tell my buyer not to message me with any personal information. I check my email every couple of days and missed one connection. It is so unprofessional.
I would also like to keep all correspondence on eBay message. Isn't that what eBAy would want/

Maybe the Russians can fix it
