Our eBay account is in my moms name under her information and she has became extremely sick and is not expected to make it very much longer, so I am needing to know if I can change our account of almost 400 listings and 100% reputable feedback to my social security number so I do not have to delist all of these items under a new account. Please advise.

Short and sweet responses: No, can't happen, won't happen, against eBay policy,, too much contingent liability, unfair (get used to it), etc
..
Maybe you need to open an account and start doing "cutting and pasting under your SSN, banking account etc then build your own reputation that you might be proud of - pride is a good thing.

Technically; legally, those listing do not belong to the OP. They will be part of her mother's estate and subject to probate.

A bit harsh don't you think. The OP is just trying to work with and through a life changing event in their life.

Unless mom has a good amount of assets, unlikely probate court is necessary. If the OP gets this all worked out before Mom passes, it is unlikely the estate would be in play.

Would you please provide more information. Since Ebay became our Money Processor, what is the exceptions to this? How is it handled with a changeover in ownership of the account as well as with IRS?

I'm sorry for mom & wish you & family well.
Unfortunately no. ebay is a single user, single tax payer identity platform. They do not permit transfers of accounts to new sellers. You will need to begin all over from scratch.

Problem comes to the tax forms. Income tax would be required to be filed due to activity for a social security number already flagged as inactive (when it happens). That would trigger closure as well.

I've changed accounts from personal to business with no hassles, you could just try updating the information. Do it in stages, if it goes to her bank, add a new bank account. Then try swapping the SSN, or get an EIN from the feds (takes like, 30 seconds) and replace the SSN with the EIN. I think you can do this, depends on how things are set up now and how ebay sees it, but worst possible case is you have to start a new account and that isn't really a terrible thing.

Changing an account from Personal to a Business account is completely different than changing the ownership of the account.
Doing it slowly or doing it fast will make no difference. You can NOT change the ownership of an account. Ebay can't allow this due to tax reporting impacts and likely other reasons. But this is not something that Ebay will allow.

Far more cost and effort than the account is worth in the first place. This can be done in a few hours just using a one month subscription to any of the crosslisting services that do crosslisting across accounts.

I'm so sorry about your mom. You both are in my prayers.
The suggestions above are great. My advice? Get the programs to copy the listings, create a new store wherever, and close this one down. It's cleaner accounting come tax time. You may want to close it once it is copied rather than wait. You will have many more important things to worry about.
