I might be late to the conversation but have noticed a recent decline in sales. Keep in mind I am a casual seller with a small storefront. I sell 4 to 6 items every month. Suddenly, crickets. No offers, no responses to offers, etc. Did I miss something?

I just came here because I am experiencing the same and wondering if there is a new feature I need to enable or why I am not getting views anymore. I will watch this to see responses. I hope things pick up for you soon.

The first complaint about slow sales was in October 1995.
How do your sales in the September /October compare with September/October 2024?2023? 2022?
It might be worth noting that nearly 3 million federal civil servants are not getting paid, nor some 2million troops.
Yes, I know all three branches of government are controlled by the Republic Party.
That's a lot of paychecks that are not coming in.

Clothing is a tough, oversaturated, category here, with millions of listings. Unless your items are unique, they tend to get lost in the shuffle.

You sold 3 items in the past 27 days, if you sell one more by Sunday you would be at your normal range.

This community gets lack of sales complaints daily. Comes down to pricing and demand. I would recommend first doing research on what you have available. Check to see what similar items are selling for and have sold for. You might find out your prices could be too high. Next check to see if the items you are selling has a demand or any interest. When you check to see what has sold if there are very little of one item actually sold but a bunch up for sale then the interest level isn't around. You might want to look into other platforms as well. Items can stay on the market for years without someone interested in making even an offer.

There may some savings if you end your store subscription.
There is no sense paying for a store when you’re not listing at least 250 items a month.

You may have missed the last national election.

It's always gonna be an unsolved mystery, everyone has an answer why sales are slow...
1. Tariffs
2. Government shutdown
3. Bad weather
4. Good weather
5. Trump was elected
6. Back to school spending
7. It's the first of the month buyers have bills to pay.
8. Job losses
9. Living paycheck to paycheck
10. Temu, Ali Express, Shein, etc....
11. Floods
12. Tornados
13. Hurricanes
14. Stock Market Down
15. Inflation
16. Ebays fault due to glitches
17. Ebays hiding your sales
18. Ebay is working on the site again.
19. Other things I missed

This week is terrible on eBay. I did stop promoting. Sorry eBay you get way too much. Lots of lookers but not much buying. My Mercari is outperforming eBay this week. And my Etsy is way up. To think this is where it started for me. And it turned into the worst of the platforms as far as sales. And I hate the pay to play. I don’t advertise at all anywhere else and get lots of sales. I used to make six figures here. This is a weird time of year w Halloween almost here Xmas about to kick off. But it should be better.

It is slow. The economy is not great and people aren't buying. I had a potential buyer tell me he found my item in Britain (although damaged) at a much lower price. I feel if he has to go to Britain to find a comparable WoW. By the way the item I have is not damaged. I still offered him a 15% discount and never heard back.

Why is this thread all of a sudden turning political ??? .. Nobody cares
Yes, you missed the entire boat ...
Listen up : I've sold a total of eight, yes (8) items which sold pretty darn quick here on ebay.
(The fees are outrageous.. but what are you gonna do)
I am sure it ticked off a lot of sellers of me selling bulk items for pennies on the dollar per item while other sellers are sitting on that same item for well over $20.00 ... I have no followers but at my prices there is no way those other sellers are going to compete with me as they offer elevated prices ...
That's step #1
You need to learn what is in demand ... Stay away from anything dealing with Christmas ... During the summer months hit all the flea markets and private yard sales that you possibly can.. stock up on your inventory.. Good inventory.. not a candle from 1957 that is warped from being in the attic storage heat for months on end ...
Do not jump in to selling a T-shirt being a newbie when other sellers selling that same shirt have been here for years (Rockstar Status) and have a killer following.. you're never gonna win against them ...
Go to your local storage locker business and ask what locker / lockers will be going up for auction. Many will tell you they do not auction off unpaid storage lockers.. The manager will walk you over to a overdue locker.. you look at the locker when they open the door and make a offer.
I've purchased lockers that were total garbage (cost me $$ to clean it out) .. on the other hand, I purchased a locker that was storage for defunct sneaker outlet.. 90 pairs of brand new Air Jordan sneakers, for what.. $125 I paid ... The other one had a slew of Trek high-end, performance bikes.
^^ I brought them to our numerous "purchase a table" flea markets and sold everything... Wheel and deal.. You're not a a flea market to bring your items back home.. you're there to make a deal and sell ...
That's the best advice I can possibly give you ...
Good luck
I'm out

Yeah, I looked at your listings. THAT is an Etsy Store, not an Ebay Store.
30-35 years ago that was an SMC Catalog. 😄
You may be too young to know what SMC was, or possibly even who Tom Bosley was. 😁

When I first got back on ebay with this new account back in July, my first 10 sales were back to back to back. Thought Hell Yeah, I'm going to clear out this crap I'm getting rid of quick. Then the Newness ran out. August, September, Pffffffffft. Ebay said "Your WELCOME BACK is over with, now time to get back to normal. I think I had my first sale in 3 weeks just last week. Delivered yesterday. No Biggie. It's ebay. Get used to it. Still have about 100 more listings to go. Mostly clothing stuff. Just can't seem to get motivated to do it. 😏
