Slow Sales

I had been doing rather well I thought selling on EBay since February.  I had two or three sales a week which made me very happy.  Two weeks ago, though it all just stopped.  I have only gotten a couple of sales and only after I sent offers to the watchers.  Is anyone else having a problem with slow sales right now?  I'm getting very depressed.

Re: Slow Sales

My sales in 2 stores have fallen as well. I also have had no international sales since they changed to Ebay International Shipping I had one item weigh 5oz and would cost over $33.00 to ship to Austria That's crazy.  I'm tempted to change everything back to USPS and give my customers a flat fee.

The other problem is I know several of my listings lost item specific information with all these new updates I let the know and nothing was done. Without opening every item I don't know what is missing, one had no player no team and no autograph name I know I put this all in.

Is anyone else having the same problem???

Re: Slow Sales

After this post I went back through my listings and dumped a bunch of stuff that had been sitting with no views, watchers, or sales.  It's taken about a week and a half, but sales are back up.  Yesterday was my best day in 3 weeks.

I guess list every day AND dump an equal number of old listings.

Re: Slow Sales

I Feel the same way something is drastically wrong. I have been on eBay 15 years and have never seen it this slow. Days without sales. Never happened before.  Something has changed or Fed raising rates has hurt the consumer big time and they are pulling back their spending.

Re: Slow Sales

Seems Ebay is trying to suck even more money out of us sellers with promoted listing fees and now a new off site Ads ( Beta). Pay per click.  They want us to spend more money when nothing is coming in. Margins shrinking.  I am also receiving messages to drop my prices to attract buyers. Higher shipping costs, fees and supplies and they want us to drop prices. Is eBay dropping their prices/ Fees to help sellers ( No)? Final value Fees include shipping labels and sales tax money to boot( Is this even legal).  Did they slow sales on purpose thinking we would have to try this( See below)? Do this do that and it will increase your sales. I have tried it all and sales have come to stop. Almost time to close the doors.

Attract new buyers to your eBay listings with ads on leading external channels.

Congratulations! You’ve been chosen to try Offsite AdsBETA, our new advertising solution that gives you exclusive access to more ads on external channels, like Google, to help you reach buyers beyond eBay.

Good luck to all. Hope sales pick up somehow.

So what that sounds like: We(Ebay) want to charge you your fees but they want the sellers to pay for the advertising to bring buyers to Ebay. If that's the case why wouldn't a seller want to have their own website and pay the adverting fee to advertise their website instead of giving Ebay even more money to bring buyers to their website. Ebay no longer has enough buyers 🤔 That doesn't sound good 🙄

Re: Slow Sales

I finally started having days where Poshmark sales outpaced my eBay sales.

This is very strange because I only had 100 Poshmark listings because I'm not using a site or app to help with the process. I'm doing it the slow way while I'm on the treadmill at the gym or doing my morning walk at the park.

The biggest tip off for me was regarding video games. I got a batch of switch games and listed them on eBay. Historically, Switch games and official Nintendo titles especially always sold fast when priced competitively. On eBay, some of those listings have sat for days when they normally sell within hours.

I started cross-listing those titles to Mercari and *SURPRISE*, they started selling near instantly like how they used to on eBay. I'm convinced it's 100% eBay's fault for the bad sales on this site by that alone.

Re: Slow Sales

Your inventory is pretty good but after doing a quick search on google and comparing 5 random items from your store ALL 5 came up HIGHER THAN RETAIL PRICE ( Target, Walmart, homedepot, lowes, etc).

You might wanna revise and update all your prices by comparing it to what it actually sells for retail and then  mark it down 30-35%.  That is what buyers expect to save when they go on eBay looking for deals, even if it is BRAND NEW.  I guess you buy shelf pulls in lot so your margins should be there.

Re: Slow Sales

It is all about inventory, We have had solid numbers but had a little hickup with our main vendor and had a few months where our sales went down about 40% but again, we were not listing as much of the high value items as we normally  do, we sorted it out and we just had our best month yet.

Re: Slow Sales

I have been getting steady sales up until Thursday. No sales 10/26, 10/27 or 10/28 nothing. Been sending out offers and nothing. In the past 20 years this has never happened. Hope it gets better soon.
