Shortchanged myself again

So I thought ebay was going to charge me the 13.25% for selling a model train but they charge more than that. Are fees for model trains more?

Since it got dug up, one can expect a tag team effort for the rest of the day.

@dhaga

Have you been able to determine the reason eBay levied more than 13.25% (and the other customary fees)  on the sale?

A few years ago I made the mistake of promoting a listing for a cassette tape, and was surprised to learn that I made a whopping 94 cents.   Have not used PLs since.  They are insidious.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

I am still looking into it. It was a rush job (special request from a person for me to list an item BIN).

The very first reply answered your question succinctly and directly, yet you've still made yourself absolutely unhelpable.  No one here is going to want to assist you in the future either with your attitude.

You can double check the percentage to make sure it was correct.

Go to you Transaction page, click All Transactions. Select the line with the Sale and click "View" (far right)..That will bring up this page where you can verify....

The percentage is circled in Red. The details of the sale are viewable by click the down arrow.

Where did you 'short change' yourself?

Re: Shortchanged myself again

Ah an attempt to direct the tribe to banish me. So funny. Yes, I gave the first reply a helpful. The second reply was the call to the tribe to beat on me and look where we are. So many members wanting to say I have a problem (and maybe I do) but why go there when all I asked about was 13.25% which, as you point out,  was answered directly and succinctly without drama in the first reply.

Re: Shortchanged myself again

Your question has two answers the first being yes 13.25% is the FVF rate being applied to the total cost of the transaction. The actual effective rate is going to be a bit higher due to the fixed transaction fee of either $.30 or $.40 and the FVF applied to the sales tax.

The effective FVF % will generally be between 13.25% and 15%.

Seems you already know that the fee is 13.5%.

Re: Shortchanged myself again

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Are you now confirming the rate is 13.5% as you posted and not 13.25%?

Then you should have marked that answer as the "Best Answer" and the subsequent 69 posts wouldn't have been made. But I have the impression that you wanted to bring attention to yourself and your listings and you chose to continue this dramatic nothingburger.

Re: Shortchanged myself again

Good Gawd. To project that if I marked a post best answer subsequent posts would not have been made is a ridiculous attempt to beat on me even more. Further down the rabbit hole we go...

Obviously  it was a typo. You don't have to berate me for it.

Who is berating who? If I asked it was not obvious to me.

Re: Shortchanged myself again

Since we are all still here, did you check the math on this transaction to see if it was correct?

Re: Shortchanged myself again

I think it has something to do with the fees associated with what is listed in message 67 of this thread.
