Hi guys!
So, i have this issue with a costumer. I made an international sale to a costumer but now the buyer wants to return his order because according to him his item was damaged. In his message the buyer requested to send him a shipping label. However, since the costumer lives in a different country than mine, i can't provide him with one and asked him to ship the item and i would cover the shipping cost. I even offered him to partially refund him and keep the item. He refused to do so and told me that as a seller is my responsibility to provide him with a shipping label. He also told me he would contact eBay for that matter. Since i accepted the return, and offered him solutions is there any possibility that eBay will side with him and let him keep the item and fully refund him? What's the proof that the buyer is right? Should i contact eBay or should i wait for his shipping deadline to pass? Thank you in advance for any replies i get

OP is in Cyprus - so can not be GSP.
Dear Buyer,
eBay does not allow for labels to be sent for over sea's shipping. If you can tell me the cost of the postage to send this item to me, eBay states that I can pay that amount in to your paypal account (I will need your email to do this) and refund your item in full once I have received it.
Kind Regards
Seller

What country are you in?
CUSTOMER (costume is something you wear)
If you are in the US and it was a GSP sale, ebay will handle it. If it was a direct shipment, you do have to provide a shipping label and email it to the customer.

Everything said above as well as:
Yes, ebay will absolutely allow the customer to keep it AND refund him out of $ from you if you don't react and react on time. Letting it 'pass' will only make sure all that happens, you get nothing.

There is a check off on listing as to whether you accept international returns. If no, not sure how eBay will handle or how they handle INAD on international transactions. It is true you can't buy a label. Have you seen the extent of the damage? ( if not you can ask for picture though they don't have to comply. If you ask nicely, as in I'd like to see the damage to see if its even worth trying to get back maybe they would comply)
Is there any residual value in the item?
Is return postage more than the value of the item as it now stands?
If the answer to the last 2 questions is yes the just refund the money and let the buyer keep it.

Costumer: a person who buys goods or services from a shop or business. A customer is an individual or business that purchases another company's goods or services. Customers are important because they drive revenues; without them, businesses cannot continue to exist.

Hi!
This is what i replied back to him. But he refused and demanded i send him a prepaid shipping label. Is that a proof to win the case in case he escalates it? Thank you

Hello! Thanks for your reply. The item is a smartwatch so he claims it doesn't turn on. He sent me a picture of a black screen which i believe it doesn't prove anything. Other than that no other defect.

US sellers simply cannot provide labels from other countries. The advice the OP gave is correct.

If you can't provide a return shipping label, you need to find out how much it'll cost, then send the funds to the buyers Pay Pal account so they can buy a shipping label.

You misspelled cUstomer not just once, but then again while trying to defend yourself.
A cOstumer is a person that wears or sells or makes cOstumes, as it 'boo'.
A cUstomer is as you stated.
This is what downrightspecialkids was trying to point out.

According to post below you are in Cyprus what country is the buyer in? Since he/she has opened a NAD case with eBay you have three days to respond. If you fail to do so the buyer can ask eBay to step in and they will without a doubt side with the buyer and refund them without requiring them to return the item.
As for proof eBay demands none from the buyer the buyer simply has to state it is NAD and that is good enough for eBay.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply! I shipped it to another european country so the shipping cost isn't expensive.. I have accepted the return the same day the case was opened but i stated that i couldn't provide a shipping label and that i would pay for the shipping cost together with refund money when i receive it back. However, the response i got is that he would contact eBay because we as sellers are entitled to provide shipping labels and if i can't provide him with one i should just refund him. I later explained that since he is in a different country than mine eBay doesn't allow me to buy shipping labels. He
