If you did not accept returns in the listing, you can deny a remorse return.

If you accept returns you can get the item back before refunding.

Same version sold yesterday, was likely the same buyer, just found one cheaper.

 I try to nip it in the bud by generating a tracking number within 24 hours and will try to drop off at the post office within that time. Some customers get stir crazy when they don't see their tracking update and could wander off looking at other similar items. Either way it can be frustrating and sorry to hear that.

Is this the one advertised as "free returns"?  If so, the reason doesn't matter, you pay to take it back.  eBay will allow plenty of time to use the label you send, even if it is not there yet.

If item arrives to the buyer but is refused...will seller still need to refund?

Yes. That's what I suspected. I will refund when I receive back. But, they haven't even received it yet. Just hope they send mine back and not one in less than excellent condition.  The difference in $27 and $26.60.  Yet, I'll be out $8 shipping to and $8 return. Mine had original label. Let's see which one I get back.

You'll likely be able to able to tell if that sale generates feedback.  I bet you're shooting yourself in the foot for not taking a picture of the bottom and the label.  I can't believe some people are so self-centered and unaware of how their actions affect other people.

Technically according to eBay rules, no, but an ethical seller would refund, though perhaps minus the shipping charge in some cases (in this case I wouldn't do that, since the seller is advertising free returns).

If she emailed you and send she bought it by mistake you will only need to refund her the purchase price.  You do not refund the shipping and she has to pay for the shipping to send it back.  This has happened to me and this is what ebay told me.  As long as she messaged you she bought by mistake you are find.  You only have to refund shipping if it was a mistake in listing on your end.
