Yes, our sales are way down as well - and we are doing everything we can to promote our items. We sell antiques. Does anybody know another avenue for selling them?

Our April started out well. Then on the 9 ,th it went dark with one sale a day. It stayed that way until about the 18,th. Been steady since. We are up from last year April and above March 2018.w
ebay is strange. People on Betsy are complaining as well. My place there has done a lot more then I ever hoped. A whopping 10 sales in a month.

Amazing to me some sellers still don'tknow the difference between the words and meaning of SELLS vs SALES. One is a noun, and one is a verb.

I went over a week with no sales at all. Things have been picking up a little, but I'm still down 60% from the beginning of the year.

You are not the only one - what is going on??? My sales have dropped by about 75% over the past year or so. I have been trying to advertise my store to a small degree on facebook with ads and posting to groups, friends, etc. with no success. My husband has his own store and story is the same. I am curious to see if there is a a change once eBay rolls out their new app to mobile users (mentioned in a recent seller update). Mobile sales on eBay have increased dramatically over the last two years while sales have decreased - coincidence? I think currently it is cumbersome to try to shop on ebay from a mobile device which may be partially to blame for the drop in sales. That, and the fact that most people are on social media more than anything else and are bombarded with ads so perhaps they are spending their money before we eBay sellers can get their attention! I don't know what the solution is but I feel like I'm on a sinking ship -

I am often amazed when I research a used item I have to sell, and find that new ones coming from China are selling with free shipping, near my shipping cost alone for the item. Somehow international shippers are getting small items to US customers at way under the US shipping costs we pay. Is it because of large scale shipping discounts? I have noticed this more in recent months.

Check out Ina / eCommerceBytes Apr 28 2018 Wall Street Starts Seeing through eBay Smoke & Mirrors (of eBay CEO's Devin Wenig).
It appears as though at least one Wall Street analyst is beginning to see past the smoke and mirrors of eBay CEO's Devin Wenig. This analyst is now seeing eBay in much the same way many small sellers have been seeing eBay over the past few years.

China sellers get deeply discounted USPS rates due the "International Postal Union" treaty. It's really unfair, but it exists ... here is an article on it if you want to learn more:
The Postal Service is losing millions a year to ship for China

It is not eBay. You are selling knick-knacks and antiques ... the market is very soft and there is really a poor outlook in the future for the market. As baby boomers are dying off, their old stuff is flooding the markets like eBay and younger generations just don't want it. So, more & more inventory combined with fewer & fewer buyers means that revenue per seller is dropping dramatically.

Reading through these replies I at least see I'm not alone with slow sales. With such a dramatic drop in sales I was really wondering what was up. Not just April sales but sales have been dropping off for months. April is just worse than usual. Promoting listings, marking prices down etc don't seem to make a difference. Don't know what to do differently. So many complaints about ebay, I don’t even want to get started. Anyway, glad it’s not just me.
