Same thing with me - lowest month or so in 15 years on ebay

Yes the same here . It doesn't matter what you are selling. There is so much negative stuff going on with ebay. This nonsense of free returns, taking away the little discount we have just to name a few. With that said, ebay keeps sending me emails for me to spend $275 to attend their party in Las Vegas. If my items were getting more views and my sales weren't so dismal maybe I would have the funds .

yes my sales have taken a nose dive. I keep running really good % off sales and just got off a 5 day straight streak of crickets! Doing good % off sales and putting up new listings & adding back on 30 day returns has not helped me at all. Had a B.O. that took over 24 hrs to pay me. In ebays metrics it was only 4 days having crickets , but I count it as 5 due to buyer not paying me till this morning even though B.O. was accepted by me more than 24 hrs ago. Last year April was a really good month for me before the slow down kicked in now it's been one of the worst months to date. I'm down 52.7% from March's sales. One weekend I was running high % off sale with a multi layer discount of adding an additional BOGO 50% sale and nothing that whole weekend. Just baffles me how I see sellers with loads of negative feedback and you go in and look at their listings and I can find listings errors in numerous listings they have up yet they get such good visiablity and some even get put in that lovely 20% deal that ebay pays the discount for. Irriates me that when ebay offers these % off discounts that they cover they limit buyers to certain sellers stores to be able to use the % off code. I clicked onto one of the sellers and the response to their negatives mostly was very unprofessionaly and I wouldn't have wanted to purchase from them myself even if they had something I really liked, but yet they get promoted over some of us small timers who are lucky these days to get one sale a day! Nothing so disheartening to see the favortism ebay has to the sellers who are big over smaller sellers who can provide better customer service and don't rush thru our listings and list stuff with so many errors and give buyers a horrible buying experience as I'm seeing with ebay's promoted sellers!

That's not true. It does matter what you are selling. The average seller on eBay is seeing an 8-12% increase in sales from 2017 to 2018.
However, if you are selling used clothing, knick-knacks, or antiques ... well, then you probably might be experiencing a sales decrease. For example, with used clothing:

I sell very little clothing, new or used. Thank you forr your input. Greatly Appreciated

Where do you get the information regarding the "average seller" seeing an INCREASE in sales?
eBay's 1st quarter results ... between 2017 and 2018, total sales volume in the first quarter increased from 20 Billion to 22.5 Billion (12.5%), and the active users of eBay increased 4%.
If you assume that there are the same number of sellers, then average seller saw 12.5% growth. If you assume that the number of sellers increased 4%, then the average seller saw 8.2% growth.
Regardless, sales on eBay are increasing ... let me write that again ... the sales on eBay are going up. But to read these boards one might think that eBay's sales are plummeting. That is a myth that needs to stop being propogated.
The truth is that if a seller's sales are decreasing, it is not eBay. It is (a) the seller is facing more competition, (b) the seller's market is falling, and/or (c) the seller is not pricing or marketing competitively.

Yes, I found the article interesting & true with a lot of things, However, My sales for the first quarter of 2018 were up over 100% from 1st quarter 2017 year and then all of the sudden April my sales dropped drastically. Just seems very odd to me....

I spoke to a customer Service Rep the other day who also had a Ebay store ( did not call concerning sales) in conversation he told me that his sales for the month of April had drastically reduced. Another reason for my just putting the question out there....

This new 'product-based shopping experience' for the buyers, will have a profound affect on the sellers.
