What's with these **bleep** ebay payment policies? I have sold on and off on ebay since 2004 and this crap they are doing now is ridiculous! I was gone a while and then was broke enough to need to sell some stuff. Before I got paid right away within a day or two now I gotta wait a month!!!? Before I had been paid beforehand so I had money to ship, now I got to pay shipping up front!!? Are you freakin kidding me?!! This change in their policy hurts individual sellers who don't have money to burn. F' ebay! I'm done selling on this crap platform!

You can use 'pending funds' to pay for shipping, so you DON'T have to pay anything out of your pocket.
All the rest- well, for all this site knows, your account was taken over by thieving scammers that just sell and run, so they protect themselves (since you haven't sold for sometime)

PP fronted your funds before the transaction was complete, those days are gone here.

Payment holds for new/infrequent sellers predates Managed Payments. It's true that the policies have been tightened somewhat in recent years.

You pay shipping out of your pending payments.
You are treated as a new seller because you have not sold in a long time, thus the hold on payment until you get your feet under you again and your hair is no longer on fire.
eBay announced in 2018 that all sellers would eventually have to enroll in Managed Payments, explained why, explained how it would work, and guided sellers in singing up. By late 2021, the transition was complete.

Actually ebay started place a temporary hold on funds for new or infrequent sellers.

PayPal payments weren’t “right away” back in 2004… Sellers were heeing and hawing about not mailing out paid for items until the money hit their bank account because “just because it says paid on PayPal doesn’t mean I have been paid!”
And even if PayPal was still a method for sellers to get paid, eBay would put a hold on returning/new sellers’ payments.
The more things change, the more they stay the same…

The Managed Payments Hold period for new and occasional sellers is actually shorter than it was with Paypal.
Sellers had to wait 30 days before PP released their funds, although just as now shipping labels could be purchased with the Held funds.
US-based sellers could sometimes show proof of delivery and shorten the 30 day Hold.

"[!@^&*$!] ebay! I'm done selling on this [*&$#] platform!"
See -- eBay thought you were already done selling on their platform because you were, as you say, "gone a while."
So they are treating your sale as if it were done by a brand new seller who had never sold anything on eBay ever before, meaning you are subject to your pay-out funds being held until eBay is sure your buyer received the purchase and was not cheated by receiving a box of rocks.
It's not personal. It happens to all sellers who are "gone a while."

If they predate whatever, it never affected anything before. No crap they tightened up, They totally suck and are completely useless if I can't get my money promnptly.

Yeah the days of getting my money in a decent time frame are gone, screw ebay.

There was no "pending" funds. The item cost and shipping were paid by buyers and all the money was on hold.
09-13-2022 06:19 PM
There were no pending payments buyers paid in full including shipping and those brainlets at ebay held all the money

Yeah they suck.
