Selling my first item

Good Afternoon.  I am new to selling on EBay.  What suggestions can you offer to sell quickly?  How do I get my item to the top of searches?  Anything you guys can offer in the way of successful selling, please reply to my post.  All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Let's start by "what are you selling". You mention 'my item' so I assume you have 1 thing to sell?

First. Do some research. Look and see if there is any demand for what you are selling. Look at completed listings to figure out what the item or items are actually worth.

I see coins selling for far more than they are 'Worth" and I see stamps selling for a very small % of what they are "Worth"

You're mileage may vary.

Listing a $1,000.00 item out of the gate is going to make you scam target.

a.) Sell them separately

b.) Free Shipping

c.) Buy it Now only

d.)Immediate Payment required.

e.) Use promotions (at least 1%) so your items will be shown right across the entire ad once one of your ads are clicked on, right below the 'buy it now' 'shipping' etc. (otherwise somebody else items will be shown on your ad)

f.) 30 Day returns (customer pays return shipping)

g) Know all your costs (PP fees, Ebay fees, Shipping costs including packing items, box, bubble wrap etc.)

h.) Put 5% of proceeds in a cookie jar for that unexpected return/refund/broken item. End of the year, see Bonus.

h.) Use USPS labels printed right here on ebay

i.) Have USPS pick up from your house (if eligible- USPS will let you know)

Are you really going to fit 67 Avon bottles in a Large Flat Rate Box? You need to break up the lot, too many pieces for collectors. Perhaps you can group them by theme. Also, you are a zero feedback seller and you will be hard pressed to find someone will to risk a $1000.00 on you.

1) Price it really low, if you want to sell quickly. 2) If it's the ONLY item like yours on eBay, it'll come to the top of the search. If those are not viable options... Welcome, anyway!

Have you taken a look in Advanced Search to see what those lots of Avon collectibles are going for? You are way overpriced Im afraid.
