Why is ebay stealing their final value fees by including the SHIPPING charge in their fee evaulation??? THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! I sold a lot of children's books for 99 cents and my FVF was $1.49!!! **bleep**!!!!???? I am at my wits end with their THEFT... I am going to find ways to USE ebay to MY benefit and they can go SCRATCH!!! And this isn't the only listing that they've ripped me off... it happens ALL THE TIME!!!

This has been discussed ad nauseum. Please read one of the many other threads on it, but at the very least remember this: eBay's fees are neither hidden nor surprising. They are easily available for anyone to review before you ever list your first item. eBay did not rip you off.

Yes they did rip me off - - and others as well. And if you don't think so, you don't know your worth. Their fees are a scam. And that's why I'm getting out....

They did rip them off, It is a rip off, They just didn't read about it before they got ripped off!, & We just keep letting them do it because it has become an unfortunate acceptance, Just like a certain politician that we have become numb to their line of lies & deceit!

When you click submit listing you agreed to the terms Ebay has set. So you as a seller should have known what Ebay will charge before you listed the item. If you don't agree then either raise your auction starting price or don't list the item. You might want to go fixed ad with best offer. Yes its not worth listing cheaper items for sale anymore.

It is clearly written BEFORE you list something of how they charge.
Besides, if I sell the same books for $10 with Free Shipping (which we ALL know a.) that 'free shipping' is the preferred method b.) Free Shipping is NOT really free (seller has to have that amount built in) then I'm supposed to be charged MORE than you??

It's 4:00 Monday here and just finished packaging my weekend eBay sales.
I was "ripped off" 78 times.
I knew in advance that I'd be "ripped off".....yet did it anyway.
Why did I knowingly do that?
Not a single on of those 78 items shipped anywhere near Local.

Running auctions for common items with low interest starting at $.99 is a way to lose money.
Doing that repeatedly suggests a slowness to learn what bad business is.
Many Ebay sellers refuse to understand that "bad business is worse than no business".
This is not a ripoff, this is a self-inflicted injury, motivated by a belief that you can find two bidders for an item that only one person will bid on for a cost below the Ebay fees and shipping.
Mistakes include:
Choosing to list as an auction.
Too low a starting bid.
Buying the item which has little value to Ebay buyers.
It costs Ebay as much to process your listing and sale as it does for a more profitable sale. No reason for them to subsidize your mistake.

You ripped yourself off because you still chose to list the items on ebay after knowing the fees.

No law forces you to list items for sale on the ebay site.
Go somewhere else to sell.

Since this is how fees are charged, try to avoid selling items for such a low dollar amount. We can't change how ebay calculates the fees, so we need to change what we do on our end to avoid losing money.

I sold dollars for a dime. Lost money.
I sold dimes for a dollar. Made pennies.
I figured out where the problem was.
Now I sell neither.

I cant imagine, with an experienced seller such as yourself, how you thought you would make a profit selling a .99 book. Im sorry, but doesnt common sense come in to play here somewhere?
