I recently sold an iPad and Apple Pencil. As soon as the item sold, I got a message from a member asking to change the address, that there was a mix up and it needed to be updated. I was stupid, and I looked online to see if that was okay and possible. I didn't find anything about it dangerous for the buyer so I changed the address to what they asked. Today I got a message from the actual seller saying that the item was delivered to the wrong address. I know that I'm in the wrong, and that I was stupid to send it to a different address in the first place. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. From what I've gathered, the original buyer will get a full refund, correct? I've tried contacting the person who scammed me, but no answer. So I will be without the iPad, and without the money. I doubt there's anything I can do about that, but I figured I would ask.

Yes, there is something you can do. Learn from your mistake.
Sorry this happened to you.
I'm sure by now you know, if this happens to you again,
Cancel the transaction, ask the buyer to correct the address and re-purchase the item.
Good luck and stay safe.

Exactly as ^^^^^^^^
Also, add this buyer to your BBL

Also contact apple to brick the iPad saying it’s been stolen.

I think buyers local post will contact him through the mobile number and they will deliver to different addres.

They are in Nigeria already.

You don't mean that he should add the real buyer to his BBL, do you?
That person did nothing wrong.

In this instance, the person that was asking for the change of address was NOT the buyer. When these messages arrive in your eBay message system AFTER the fact, it is the first thing a seller should check.
I agree, however, that if the IDs are the same and the change is requested, a seller should not comply. The ones with the front money to pay are a bit more difficult to deal with.

No hun you were scammed. You must refund original purchaser his money. You already admitted that because of some message that you got you changed the shipping address and sent the IPad to a scammer. Never, ever do this again, these scrums follow sales and then message the seller pretending to be the buyer. I really wished you would have come here first and asked, but unfortunately you are now another statistic.

Sorry to hear about this. As everyone else has said, you were scammed and will never see the iPad again. The best you can do is to contact Apple to report it stolen so they can brick it. At least the scammer won't get anything out of it.
Never ship to an address other than the one that eBay gives you. You aren't protected and are most likely being scammed. If it is a legitimate buyer who made a mistake with their address, they will jump through the hoops to correct the address on eBay and re-order. If they throw a fit about it, that is a buyer you don't want anyway.

Before you get into the business of drop shipping. You must learn all the ropes. There is
way more to this than you can even possibly imagine. How do you even know your sellers know how to pack?
If your dealing with individuals, that can be very messy with damage. Tell them if they can throw the item into a wall and it not get damaged, then it is probably good to ship.

What, exactly, does drop shipping have to do with the story in this thread?

It’s amazing that eBay allows people to see sold listings and message from them. This sort of thing was attempted on me. Btw don’t do it even if it was the buyer asking for it to be changed they can dispute it and will win.
