So I have been wanting to purchases a certain tv series complete set of dvds and have been watching listings. I notice a deal too good to be true in comparison to sold listings and watch as the listing counts in red showing 63 sold and the very next day only 14 sold.
Either way when I check sold and completes the item at their low prices shows only 1 sold and that changes day by day to the current date.
I reported the item days ago and still it would seem that they are scamming both buyers and eBay.
If they have sold 77 @ $39.99 that would be $3,079.00
If they are truly scamming, who pays when they never ship since they can't ship the 1 set they may or may not even have to 77 buyers. CRAZY!!!

How do you know that they don't have a thousand copies that they are selling one at a time? They could have it auto-relisting once sold to keep one buyer (competing seller) from cleaning out their inventory to remove competition. If the seller comes from 'the river' as a seller there, it is pretty common to only list a quantity of 1 with an auto-relist set because this practice of removing competition is rampant over there. They can tie up an entire inventory in pending status this way.
As for the price being significantly lower than the other copies, I would be more concerned about bootlegs/counterfeits than how many they actually have in stock.

The seller could be using the Out Of Stock option and relisting using completed 12 digit auction numbers. The sold history can be for an entirely different item, if they revise the title, description and photos. Buyers would file Item Not Received cases if the seller was not shipping the merchandise.

I reported the item days ago
What did you report it for?
who pays when they never ship
If they do not ship, the seller pays - because the buyers file "item not recieved" disputes.
They since they can't ship the 1 set they may or may not even have to 77 buyers
How do you know how many sets they have?
CRAZY
Perhaps the issue is simply that you are misinterpreting the sold item list.
