Welcome to the Scrounge Lounge - Spring 2020 Edition
Our History: The Scrounge Lounge formed on the old Auction Listings board 17 years ago in 2003.
We appreciate ebay allowing us to transfer to the new Selling Board.
Who are we? Ebay buyers and sellers who love the thrill of the hunt and the thrill of the $ELL.
We find treasures in the usual, and at times, unusual places.
Here in the Lounge we share our finds, talk about sales, share our successes and our mistakes, we ask and answer questions, help identify widgets, and we'd love to hear about all your scrounging adventures!

About 50/50 here for mask, no mask. Had to laugh because the latest study shows the basic "3 layer cloth mask" only reduces the risk of transmission of the virus by 5%. Standard surgical mask, 45% reduction. Only the fancy N95 (??) breather masks have any true efficacy.
Really all you gain with anything other than a N95 is a sense of comfort for those that are concerned. Not much real protection at all.

Mornin' All, still morning here anyway!
Just checking in, been MIA, we went to Duluth for a few days, stayed over a couple nights...the weather was cloudy and a bit chilly with the dampness, then the rain came. It is soaking wet here. I drove back yesterday and pounded with some downpours.
A good trip, Bandit came along and we brought my son back with us! Soooo, we'll see how it goes but hey, they can both take care of themselves.
I didn't or couldn't get the struts put on til something else is done. An alignment and balance Then Struts so it will be a process. The new brakes were very much appreciated, especially driving around in Duluth, up and down and most the streets are horrible.
I'm over it. I'll take my peaceful small town environment any day.
We picked up several boxes of Travis's stuff (mostly pottery) from a couple of his friends so that was important to him. He lived there for about 10 or 12 years. One of those ppl are going to bring the rest of his stuff down here, so that's a done deal, he paid for their services...will have to cook them dinner when they come down.
Steak and Shrooms sound good!

Hi Kay! I don't know how long AJ will be here but I'm callin' it an intervention. His GF is insane, lies, hears voices, is in constant pain, and she wants AJ to take care of her but she's such a flip flipper...on the other hand will say she is 'taking care of him' and it goes into much deeper circumstances.
afa the pottery, Travis has a scrounger collection...brought most of it back here so we've been unpacking and admiring, and looking up some sigs.
His friend is going to bring a quarter sawn oak platform rocker down here; T had upholstered the seat, like a cowhide? that's the only piece of furniture I know of. He is trading/selling, he's dealing. He knows I don't have much room for extra furniture but I'm willing to 'trade up' as well lol
In all honesty, I'd gut this house if it weren't for all the "stuff" in it, that has to go first.
Sometimes I wonder if I'll live long enough!
That box of photos, postcards, that T saved from the leaky water heater, is FULL of great family history stuff. I cannot believe my mother would have left it there on the bottom when the basement used to flood all the time. I'm still shocked.
It's a treasure trove.

Kay I save the page too, haven't used float for a long time.
We (I) am such a non participant out there.
My son is a son of a scrounger and scrounger in his own right, first day came home with a pretty coffee table and two milk glass hand painted lamps, ruffled tops, chimneys, very sweet.
Yesterday he came home with a really nice vintage fat tire bicycle.
T is gonna 'chine it up", then I'll take some photos.
Oh, thanks, Kay and Sunny! so far so good
Later!
