Welcome to the Scrounge Lounge - Spring 2020 Edition

Our History: The Scrounge Lounge formed on the old Auction Listings board 17 years ago in 2003.
We appreciate ebay allowing us to transfer to the new Selling Board.
Who are we? Ebay buyers and sellers who love the thrill of the hunt and the thrill of the $ELL.
We find treasures in the usual, and at times, unusual places.
Here in the Lounge we share our finds, talk about sales, share our successes and our mistakes, we ask and answer questions, help identify widgets, and we'd love to hear about all your scrounging adventures!

T's buddy came down Saturday with a truckload of his storage items. I think that's it now.

The rocker is here, beautiful,  the bottom of Bandit's wagon is filled with Lake Superior agates.

LOTS of pottery, Several paintings, some framed prints of Duluth, interesting, lots more but those are the highlights.

Time for a Sale!

an old pal of AJ's gave him this bike!   His parents have been buying tiques for a long time, AJ says the house if full of Ad tins, Ad stuff galore.

My neighbor Ellen said she was riding her bike last week (a few blocks) so I think I'm going to challenge her.

Guys cut down a bunch of apple trees (they are intertwined), had a truck load of waste, loaded and gone, saved a couple long trunk pieces for apple wood smoke on the grill....grill still needs fixing. Again, just the lid.

Sun, hope your weather is back to normal now, too. I haven't watered any toms or peas, just planted about 6 Brussels sprouts, starters. My gf brought them over yesterday and a whole bunch of starter toms...I planted about 4 or 6 of those yesterday...now I only see 4!

CRAZY FREAK SHOWS out there huh!?  People are INSANE, lock em up!

M*M, nice bike. Enjoy your ride with Ellen. Sounds like you and the boys have been busy.

We had a wild storm move through yesterday. Sky turned dark as night. Poured rain. Straight line winds 60-80 mph. Took out a lot of trees. None here thankfully, but I was out earlier and there are trucks all over tackling tree removal.

Other excitement: there was a black bear wandering around. I've heard about bear in north Jersey but never in these parts. He climbed a tree in a parking lot to nap for awhile. Just wandered around. There is a lot of undeveloped land in the Pinelands. But he picked the old K-mart parking lot on the main highway. Makes no sense. Last I heard cops and animal control were "monitoring" the situation. Sure hope he finds his way back to the woods without incident.

Morning all...

Wow on the bear Kay !!  Poor guy.  Hope he's able to get down & go back into the woods where he belongs..

We've been busy here trying to get things done.  Working around the heat.  Has been very humid here so can't spend a lot of time outside until it cools down a bit.

Not positive yet what we're doing today.  I got all the laundry done yesterday so at least I don't have to mess with that today.

Got tomatoes & cucumbers planted a few days ago & also some zinnia seeds.  They're already popping up due to the heat & humidity.

Well just doing a quick drive by to say Hi...

Hope everyone has a nice weekend...

 Poof !

Really got out for the first time in three months on Thursday. An hour drive down the Ohio River to pick up half a carload of auction winnings. Pulled pork (for her), double cheeseburger (for me), peanut butter milkshake to share at a roadside diner on the way back, and a final stop at an Amish establishment for some donuts and other assorted goodies. Felt good to get back in the real world again.

Glad that you & the Mrs. had a nice afternoon out Kyal...

Congrats on getting some auction items.

Has been a long time since Mr. has been able to go to an auction.....  But at least we're getting things done around here...

We went to YS's & DIL's for supper last night.  OS & wife was there also along with Sofie.

The kids had a great time swimming in the pool.  Aaron is really becoming a pro at diving in....

First time we've really gone out other than the gr. store, pharmacy or Menard's to get things to work around the house..

  Had a really good time.

I know Mr. enjoyed being around the whole family....    I'm sure he gets tired of being stuck here with me all the time.... 😗

Finishing a load of laundry & then heading back outside to get some more work done.  I swear we cross one thing off the to do list & 3 more appear....

Have a nice Sunday all !

Kyal, sounds like a nice day for you and DW. Curious was the diner open for dining or was it take out?

Diner meals are one of the things I miss most. We are still restricted to take out only. Later this month is approved for outdoor seating (still with social distancing). I'm not sure when indoor seating will be available.

Pat, sounds like you had a great day with the kids and grandkids. Nice to get out of the house and spend time with the family.

We ate outside; they had four tables that on a busy day could seat 8 each. Only one other customer was there at the time.

As true scroungers; we're water drinkers when we eat out. Our bill for two sandwiches, an order of fries, a small side of horseradish coleslaw and a milkshake was 14 bucks and change. Well worth it.

DH and I have eaten outside a couple of times now and enjoyed being out.  In fact, I got my grits fix at one - oh yummm!  We have made it to the PO several times, where DH dons his masks and forges in.  He has become 'buddies' with a few of the postal workers there.

M*M, sounds like you have a lot going on at your home.  Is son feeling rescued?  Glad T could get some of his things.  Guess you have room for more?  BTW, your yard sounds delightful.  Loved your pictures.

DD and Elsie got a dog - so now they are a family of 5 including the 2 kitties.  The pups doesn't quite know what to make of the cats when they take over his space.  Here is Miles in the Corgi's crate, saying this is mine, too!

Pat, glad you got to visit with family.  It is refreshing to talk to someone else.  Hope Sophie was a good girl :-).

Kay, we are having a lot of humidity right now thanks to Christobal.  I think the bad storm you all had is called a derecho.  They are strange storms that are a result of the meeting of several weather systems.  We had one years ago when we lived in Alabama - took 7  trees out of the yard!

BigBoy is sitting here waiting to be tucked in.
