Welcome to the Scrounge Lounge - Spring 2020 Edition

Our History: The Scrounge Lounge formed on the old Auction Listings board 17 years ago in 2003.
We appreciate ebay allowing us to transfer to the new Selling Board.
Who are we? Ebay buyers and sellers who love the thrill of the hunt and the thrill of the $ELL.
We find treasures in the usual, and at times, unusual places.
Here in the Lounge we share our finds, talk about sales, share our successes and our mistakes, we ask and answer questions, help identify widgets, and we'd love to hear about all your scrounging adventures!

Kay, nice that your DH gets some overtime. They must really like him!  Cool your SIL is a mushroom lover too! 

Sun,  I could not post yesterday either.  I figured it was temporary. 

Car is in the shop now getting new front brakes and struts...what else is new.

Oh the gas leak in the truck was from a mouse chewing up some plastic connector...glad it wasn't too much, greasing the truck was more costly.

Supposed to rain most of the week, next, so will try to get some more seeds in today, let the rain water the garden.

On another topic: Barely 10% of the people here wear masks.  Stores in town don't require them. Most stores put up plastic shields, that's about it.  I don't know what they're doing in larger towns. I get updates from Mayo Clinic but haven't read the latest. I do have to make an appt. soon so I'll find out.

DS has a big green egg.  At Christmas he cooked pork tenderloins as Christmas presents for all the family.

M*M, looks like good 'room hunting.  Think you all have more varieties than we do.  Sorry about the week of rain.

Most folks here have been good about wearing masks everywhere.  Finely got my mop cut - yeah!  The traffic has certainly picked up 😞

Kay MR. has one of those trimmers.  I use that & also scissors...

 He keeps wanting me to do the normal close shave on the back of his head like barbers do, but I don't want to nick him..

  If he keeps bugging me to do it, I'm going to get crafty & just shave the word HI on the back of his head !

Maybe he'll quit asking to do it anymore....  🙂

I told him to just let it grow & we'll put it in a pony tail 😂

We're going to splurge this weekend & have steak on the grill...

  I hope to heck this darn rain stops long enough for me to be able to get out there to grill it...

Weather people here kept saying a warm/hot holiday weekend, all week long..

   Now they're changed it to rain the entire weekend 😞

 I'm still waiting tho on mine...  I just keep trying to tuck it behind my ears...  That's the problem with short hair.

 Almost everyone here wears masks...  Better safe than sorry.  But they are starting to open businesses again..

Sadly tho numbers/more cases  are going up since more businesses have opened this past week, along with more deaths ...

So far all of Mr.'s doctor appointments have been done on the phone.

I had an in person doctor's appt. yesterday. They are only seeing "healthy" people. If you're sick they send you to the ER. I needed Rx refilled. There was a nurse in the lobby took my temperature and asked questions (about possible symptoms) before I could go inside. Had to wear a mask, too.

Pat, hope you get some nice grilling weather. It's supposed to rain on and off here too.

We're planning a social-distancing barbecue at my mothers. Just a few people. No frills. Keeping it real simple. Weather looks most promising for Monday.

Dtex, the ribs look great. Hope you enjoyed them.

Patd, nice you were able to get a haircut. It always feels good to have a fresh cut.

Glad the gas leak was a minor fix. Bummer that the car is also in need of repair. It's always something.

I still think of my car as "new" because it's the only one we ever bought brand new. It is however 14 years old at this point with well over 200,000 miles. It's been good to us but the repairs are becoming more frequent and at times, costly.

Yep Kay we have one of those cars too. Getting a lot of miles on it. Hope it hangs in there for you and ours does too. New / Used ones are so expensive.

Very stormy looking out there this morning. Suppose to rain a little bit this afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Would be good.

Question for you all. Would you change the address on a shipmentfor a buyer or not??? Rude buyer too. I told the buyer ebay did not allow me to change the address. Reply was not nice. Told them they should have changed it when they paid.

Cancel with 'problem with address' then relist.

Let PITA buyer know you have cancelled and relisted if he/she is still interested.

Needs to change address in PayPal before paying.

Sun, I have changed an address upon buyer request, but am always uneasy doing so. It would depend on the dollar amount. I'd also check feedback received and left to look for red flags. But ultimately there is nothing wrong with cancelling and relisting like Pat said. Whatever you are comfortable with.

We had a thunder storm this morning. It got so dark. But it didn't last and the sun actually came out for most of the day. Rained again in late afternoon.

Ok I can do that. Thank you both for your suggestions. Last time I cancelled a sale I thought I got a defect mark against me. Could not find the book that time. Had to cancel. Oh well not a big deal I guess.
